It isn't unlikely that Trump or others would sue anyone. He sued a person for $5 billion for suggesting he wasn't worth $5 billion. Racking up damages to a presidential campaign worth tens of millions to the tune of $5 million would be trivial. It isn't unlikely that Burnett would sue someone who damaged the reputation of a former client. Of course violating a NDA with such momentous public consequences is likely to affect this guys employability/marketability.

Any lawsuit by Trump over tapes like these would be dismissed quickly and with prejudice since the public interest in the behavior of a POTUS candidate is immense, but he'd do everything he could to bleed the person and destroy them if his crazy followers didn't do so on their own.

Cut an attack ad mix of these comments from Paul Ryan, with various comments from Trump, then throw in Trump supporting comments from [local Congressman up for reelection] and you have attack ads against almost every Republican politician in the nation.

IE:

Paul Ryan: Donald Trump has a great opportunity... imagine a unified Republican WH/Senate/House.
Trump: *literally any of his dozens of offensive lines, whether it's punishing women for abortion, rounding up millions of hispanics, blocking muslims from the country...etc*
GOP Congressman: *comments supporting Donald Trump*

Followed by a voiceover warning about the damage these people want to do.

It's possible that if Trump brings up Hillary defending the child rapist in court and she has to start giving Legal Theory 101, she'll turn around and say "I mean, you have a child rape trial coming up in December, right, Donald? Are you saying it'd be wrong for any lawyer to defend you?"

In my wildest fantasies, Trump responds by accidentally admitting guilt.

That'd be a weak response. A better one would be more along the lines of "as per the 6th Amendment, all defendants have the right to counsel. I requested to be removed from the case and the judge said no. Therefore I had to stay and provide the best defense for my client."

Then end it by quoting John Adams on his defense of the Boston Massacre soldiers:

quote:

The Part I took in Defence of Cptn. Preston and the Soldiers, procured me Anxiety, and Obloquy enough. It was, however, one of the most gallant, generous, manly and disinterested Actions of my whole Life, and one of the best Pieces of Service I ever rendered my Country. Judgment of Death against those Soldiers would have been as foul a Stain upon this Country as the Executions of the Quakers or Witches, anciently. As the Evidence was, the Verdict of the Jury was exactly right.

If Clinton's preparing a response to the rape case she had to defend she's going to drop him like Tim Kaine did to his gubernatorial opponent with his premade Death Penalty response.

I'm more worried they'd literally try to have Clinton killed after the election, though that'd mean Tim Kaine as POTUS and he'd want some Bobby Kennedy-grade revenge. Keep in mind that there are fully grown (physically, maybe not mentally) adults who are diehard Trump supporters and have spent their entire lives hearing about how the Clintons are literally the second coming of super HilterStalin.

I remember when Paladino ran for NY Governor and I was legit concerned he was an escaped mental patient or something. Like he's more unstable than Trump.

I get that certain GOP loyalists are going to try and do some kind of weird Hail Mary for Romney or some nonsense, but people have been voting in some states for about a month now. They can't recall the ballots. It's too late and they can whine all they want, but this is the consequence for putting this kind of guy at the head of your ticket and not trying harder to derail him when it would have mattered.
