A package from eastern europe came in! It's time for some images. I bought a completely inauthentic 'Pokemon Electronic Pet' off of ebay, because secretly I collect keychain virtual pets. I don't go out much. I love the cowlick on the pikachu drawing.  The package came from (I think) Croatia, the instructions are in what looks to me to be Spanish, and none of the instructions actually line up with the way the game plays, which is helpful. I slid the plastic casing off the backing card and oh god what   Horrific Ash aside, buddy stands on his own, which is abnormal for these kinds of toys. The screen was a little hard to photograph with my budget smartphone, so please forgive the image quality going forward.  Upon booting the game, there was a little animation of a wagon driving around, and now I am stuck with Pikachu's well-known baby form, a little blank ant.  I can play a little dancing game with him though! This is probably the most common type of game in these cheap virtual pets. I was surprised with this one though, usually fakes come with one of 3 generic ROMs, and all that changes between them is the casing and sometimes the sprites they use. I've never actually seen this program before, so bonus points to the pikachu for uniqueness. Generally these things take a few days to 'grow up' into their final forms, who knows if it'll actually be a pikachu or not, but this one seems to have a pause feature, so when I'm not being an adult at the office I'll keep him alive and see what happens. Well, my Japanese isn't very good, but I can tell you that the text says something about this being used in a Beijing shopping mall and it's low quality. I think it qualifies for this thread
