I don't understand why they're so afraid of a Clinton presidency after none of their delusional fears came true under Obama. I mean I get it (they're idiots), but it's still stupid. Their guns haven't been taken away. Sadie Hawkins dances haven't become mandatory. We're still the most powerful country in the world.

Going back to healthcare chat, part of the problem with the whole system, especially costs, is how much it costs to become a doctor. While there's a multitude of openings around the country and whatnot, the monetary cost of college is still through the roof, which also leads to people wanting more money so they can pay off college faster. The money and prestige is what drew a lot of people in, and they graduate with 5+ figures of debt. Though it's likely only a matter of time till we see what happened with lawyers where everyone wanted quick and easy money as a lawyer, only to find out there are too many lawyers and not enough jobs (though probably not as bad due to the increase in population). Also ads for Rx drugs (OTC drugs ads are fine with me).

Who the gently caress stays in the front-line, when you can get PAID somewhere else, for doing less work? (Said the guy going into Social Work, and working as a Sub) You know how hard it was for me to find a Pediatric Endocrinologist when I was first diagnosed? Nearest one was an hour and a half away. Saw them four times a year. Until they got an offer at three times what they were making to come work as a private practice consultant. We incentivize docs to flee the positions we most need them in, and incentivize them to flee into niche specialty fields that are, more often than not, aimed directly at the heart of the aging and ailing Baby Boomers.

One of the biggest problems with this is that general doctors are paid peanuts and good luck paying off medical school on that. That plus how you have to rush patients through as quick as possible just kind of kills any desire to be a GP. You have to go for one of the high paying specialties to make the money that everyone things doctors make.
