Echoing the sentiment that Kamala in Pakistan really needed to be an issue or two longer. It feels like they wanted to do an arc, but Marvel was like "But we gotta set up XvI soon!" so they cut it short.

Finished "Triumph & Torment" over the weekend, that Strange/Doom comic where they travel to Hell Mephisto's realm to save the soul of Doom's mom. drat (no pun intended). That is required reading for any Marvel fan. Even the ones who aren't fully up to speed on either character because one nice bonus of the comic is that both of their origin stories are covered (Strange's being much more brief than Doom's). Actually it is more of a Doom story, really, with Strange there to get and keep the plot moving and indeed make it possible even in the first place since Doom is not as powerful a sorcerer. I've read comics that tell a similar origin for Doom and I'm not a Doom expert but these comics I'm talking about came much later so it feels like T&T was an important milestone, like one of those old issues you read and you go "aha, this is where it came from!" An influential work that later writers built upon, but maybe I'm wrong and Roger Stern is re-telling material that someone earlier wrote? The art is gorgeous. Pencils by Mike Mignola, and if that's not enough to get you to read the colours are also fantastic. A lot (all?) of the comics on Marvel Unlimited seem a little too perfect in that decades-later-clean-up-job way that should be familiar to anyone who's read Marvel Masterworks that cover the really old stuff. Maybe it's just my expectation that reading anything old should look like faded newsprint that's been in the attic for too many years but ANYWAY this graphic novel does not have that issue. The colours look painted, specifically watercolours, and they are really beautiful but also quite different than most comics you'll read from that late 80s era. Carve out some time for yourself since it's 80 pages and read it. Highly recommended.

Yep, and the most disgusting thing I've seen is "Women want to be allowed to dress sexy, but then turn around and scream and yell about stuff like this? Why are those that complain about slut shaming angry?". Yes because they're the exact same loving thing right? Dudes drawing something for other dudes to jerk it to is exactly the same as a woman who chooses to dress a certain way.

They really act like sexy ladies are completely banned, and not basically everywhere, even more so than before. This is why I never discuss comics online anywhere but among facebook friends and here. I was posting about how CW2 was making me feel like Kamala, with my favorite hero going insane and evil, and someone said "How can you like Captain Marvel now with her costume? Don't you miss the old one that showed off her rear end?". Just no.
