It would be kinda dumb business-wise for a third party not to port Switch games to other platforms.

My hope is that in three years or so there'll be a SwitchGo or somesuch, which is the Switch hardware + better battery life crammed into a 3DS style clamshell and the whole library available for download, because the concept of the Switch we got seems as dumb as my balls.

My basketball friends will then ask if my Nintendo plays Goldeneye, and I will inform them that it does not. I will not be invited to subsequent basketball outings.

Huh, there are rumors that suggest the next Monster Hunter isn't coming to the Switch. Allegedly Sony paid a zillion yen to Capcom for PS4 exclusivity because - unlike in the rest of the world - there hasn't been a killer app for the Japanese market. And Monster Hunter would fit that bill. The rumor also says the contract specifically excludes Nintendo's Switch, so the new Monster Hunter could be ported to the XBone and PC if need be. This fits with interviews about Capcom wanting to capture the western audiences, so they're thinking of adapting the series to our tastes.

If Capcom wants to capture western audiences they should try making good console games or actually finishing Street Fighter V.

Either way, it's a pathetic amount for even a last gen system. Nintendo needs to stop insisting on selling consoles at a profit and focus on making a console that is powerful enough to compete and reap the rewards later.
