Yeah, but Clinton is probably stronger in Florida than either would be. It's weird that Biden is assumed to be so much better than Hillary when no one has run meaningful oppo on him since 1988.

Yeah and it's also immensely affected by trends. Tech degrees are this generation's law degrees and it's just as much of a scam. We have to stop telling students to all go into the same field because that one's got the guaranteed lifetime employment. There's no such thing anymore.

Yes, as I said, I have problems with Clinton but she is 85% similar to Sanders and I genuinely believe progress will be made under a President Clinton barring GOP obstrictionism which I don't think Clinton, Sanders or Obama can do anything about short of grabbing majority wherever possible. Even is Clinton is deadlocked she won't be working towards repealing gay marriage, abortion rights or other factors I consider important. I would be worried about her hawkish elements if not for the fact that "hawkish elements" is in comparison to literally anyone the GOP would toss out and while I think Clinton will be more Drone-Heavy than I personally would support I don't think she's an idiot looking for war.

And who knows, maybe he would have been a stronger general election candidate. He didn't run. Like every time we have this debate, it boils down to the only thing certain people can say is to snipe from the sidelines about meaningless counter-factuals as way to seem serious or intelligent, when what it reveals is that they're really a loving moron.

Science and math people lean pretty heavily towards putzing around in academia (which is its own realm of smugness, but not in the *gently caress you my job is better than yours* way).

If you want all the problem solving challenges of STEM with none of the employability just take a pure math degree and don't bother learning to code outside of one Python class 7 years ago :suicide:.

The Bernie --> Trump "Well, Bernie aside, Trump has more to offer me" flip is truly something amazing to watch. If your convictions, life experience, and understanding of human rights issues is / are so muddy and amorphous that they are able to legitimately straddle and form compatibility with Bernie and Trump, your personality? identity? soul? is so floppy and malleable that it might as well just be ignored.

Yuuuuuuup.

538 quietly pointed this out last week, I think, maybe two weeks ago. But Hillary is actually up to near the bottom of "normal candidate favorability." We got this idea stuck in our collective heads that they were the most unpopular candidates ever, and since the DNC Clinton has actually been a low-median Democrat. Republicans hate her, but that doesn't actually make her less popular than any Democrat that they merely dislike a little.
