Nobody backing that POS is going to get what they paid for. Incidentally, someone ran the numbers and all the high-end completist levels require a pledge of sometimes up to twice what the rewards are worth. I think at last count the $1666 level would cost something like $900 if you pledged $1 and bought it all as add-ons.

The project ran super late, communication was TERRIBLE with waiting months at a time for an update that basically said "next month I'll put out a real update", and while the minis are good (nevermind the tits) the game is honestly kinda average-to-meh.

Dude said it pretty clearly in the update they made, the content was envisioned as a postgame of sorts but it turns out not many get there/already started new campaigns so it's kinda useless making a brand new expansion just for people at that very specific, hard to reach place. I'd argue it's a better compromise than trying to push a lovely expansion, specially because all the models and stuff will be used for other things. Communication does suck at times, even the website is fancy barebones crap, but the product itself came out fine and I imagine that's why people want it. You can also see that the guy is addressing the issues he encountered while making the last expansion in the way he is adding a route for players to start deep into a campaign if they want AND still expanding the endgame a bit. I dunno, it sounds promising and even if you absolutely loathed everything about the game it's just a good deal and you could flip whatever you buy for a shitload of money. I for one got into yet another campaign and really want to see what the new rules add.

Yea that post is pretty much nonsense. The actual tally is here (Note that it's based on kickstarter prices, which are about 50% of retail). It's about $300 short right now because it's like the third day of a 42 day campaign, and the pricing reflects all the expansions and promos which are expected to be revealed (which added up to about $800 or so for the first Kickstarter). I mean, I can totally get the objections a lot of people have, but there're also a lot of blatant lies being spread here. minute fucked around with this message at 23:00 on Nov 27, 2016 |

Kingdom death looks way too expensive for me as a game - but some of the expansions had cool looking models (I like the flower knight and dung beetle knight) so I might order them if they are getting a reprint. The page is a bit of a confusing mess so i'll ask here - are the expansions made in hard plastic or resin?

So what's out there for those of us who might want a sorta dark fantasy game a la Kingdom Death with lots of cool grotesque models, but not all the baggage? Like, something that actually has gameplay that's not completely random, has weird creature designs (with or without tits, but not trying to make boobies and poop jokes its "mature" selling point), and has a neat sort of setting? The Dark Souls KS kinda looked like it might fit the bill, but talk of the gameplay made it sound like a dud. Anything else out there?

So it looks like Metamorphosis Alpha has swung back into the "in trouble" category; at the start of November Jamie Chambers said that all the books have shipped and that at this point everyone should have their hardcopies, and if you didn't to contact him. So people who didn't get their books contacted him as asked. Then last week he posted another update saying that everyone has gottne their books, only there's quite a few people in the comments who're saying they still haven't received anything and haven't heard back from when they contacted him the last time, and Jamie isn't replying to comments. Dammit, Jamie, you were so close!
