So the last six months my wife and I have been working as paramedic/nurse respectively in refugee camps in Greece, started as volunteers last summer and then accepted jobs with the organization we were with. We work mainly in camps with Kurdish and Syrian populations but we've worked in a Yazidi camp too. Anyway, a friend of mine from back home in America where my wife is from posted this link on my facebook wall where a lot of refugees who're my friends can see it which is what incensed me the most. It was posted as a 'how can you even be over there helping these animals kinda thing' http://www.bobbyanding.com/2015/10/a-female-doctor-working-in-germany.html I responded with a long rant deconstructing it, we talked it out in the comments and she apologized and then I apologized and it kinda worked out. Except now her husband is messaging me raging about me yelling at his wife and being childish for throwing her under the bus in public. It's the typical evangelical housewife and overly possessive husband who never liked us being friends in the first place (she and my wife met through a volunteer org in the states) but Jesus Christ I'm glad I'm out of America.

I've seen some weird names in recent years. One that stood out was Thomas T. Thomas. The T. didn't stand for anything. It had something to do with his mother really wanting to marry a guy named Thomas and have a son named Thomas or something.

PA had a similar thing where Gabe (I think?) made an off-hand comment about a very odd game teaching women about their bodies - that inccured an absolute ton of backlash due to perceived trans phobia. I think they were smart enough to keep their mouth shut that time though.

The poor kid not only has Abcde as a name, but she has autism and Santa wouldn't meet with her and her service dog. http://abc7.com/pets/family-says-little-girl-with-autism-turned-away-by-mall-santa/419331/

I just wanted to say that you and your spouse are awesome for working and volunteering in the refugee camps. And good job calling out your friend's idiocy. One would HOPE that hearing about the displaced people who are suffering, and seeing the good work that you are doing, these people back home would be more supportive and have gained some sympathy. You are good people, thank you!

I work in high school football and the Key & Peele names are becoming less and less hyperbole each year. Just had Poutasi Poutasi and LaTrell Bumphus at an event a few weeks ago. Poutasi Poutasi's Mom died on National Signing Day (yesterday)

Everyone spells my name wrong the first time (and often every subsequent time too) and it's just not an issue. But names can lead to bullying. I know I was made fun of for having an uncommon name at the time (top 100 name, but less popular than Gerald and Wayne). Maybe kids had less stuff to occupy their time with back then, but you were definitely given poo poo for different names. Perhaps the Jaydens, Aydens, and Braydens blazed the trail for all those with unusual names and no one cares anymore. There's a guy at work named Hardik. Best terrible name ever.

Never met an Ayden who wasn't a little poo poo. Then they just seem to vanish once they stop being kids. Or maybe they just change their names to something less awful.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSMKGRyWKas People were beaten up simply for being at that event. Milo is a colossal tool - and it annoys me I have to say this every loving time, and people still think I advocate what he says - but trying to downplay violence leveled at people who aren't him is ridiculous.

Primal Studios seems like a porn thing. And the capital F in Father makes it more creepy somehow. Also, gently caress Milo, he's a complete shitfucker.

SEVEN years?! Good Lord! I wonder how many behavioral problems that kid has. My sister still allows my niece to demand to have someone in her bed with her when she goes to sleep, and she's five. When I went out to visit, I was the one who had to sleep in her tiny bed until she fell asleep. I fell out of the bed a couple of times.

I want Milo to unknowingly walk under a basketball hoop some day, and for someone to run up and dunk on him so devastatingly hard that it knocks some self-awareness into him, making him realize being a Nazi is for dorks.
