And to follow up on c, they never had enough louds to begin with; headphones have to be cranked all the way up, along with the source (phone, PC, etc) to even reach what I consider a normal listening level. the upside is they used to have decent sound quality for the price, but they're pretty far gone now. Yeah....for your price, I think you're kind of screwed. Might be worth a shot. Otherwise, find another pair you like and "convert" them to bluetooth with something like this and an adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetoo...etooth+receiver Have you had your ears checked out? Maybe you have a ton of earwax blockage. When I met my girlfriend, she said she was deaf in one ear due to an accident. Turns out it was just a lot of earwax and some scar tissue.

You guys are making me feel better about my wendys run last night. Hard to beat a classic double stack. (Or two, plus fries and a chicken wrap) Also got my federal return money deposited today. Feels good except for the part that I now have to cut a check to the state for the first time ever because of that guitar I won plus some lotto winnings from last February ($888).

For the second year in a row I've owed 5bux to my state. Cool. Paid. Since I got married this year I ran the numbers for filing individually vs jointly and drat if we didn't get twice as much back filing jointly. My only fear is that since the wife owes a good deal I'm back taxes from doing 1099 work and being bad at keeping expenses I'll never see my refund. Not that I'd mind getting some of that debt knocked out.

Vice news the other night did a bit on how deaf children who get cochlear impants instead of learning sign language are being denied their connection to "deaf culture", and had some sign language teacher bitching about how sign language and deafness is an identity and culture that has to be protected. It even had a mother who declined the implants for her kid because of how well he was doing learning sign language. I'm loving dumbfounded.

I agree. There's a pretty large movement, however, to go from asking "can we fix it?" to "should we fix it?". What causes less anguish, modifying a person to fit the world (thereby implying that the person is broken or inadequate), or modifying the world to fit the person? I think you're right, jesus christ, slap some cochlear implants on a baby and let them hear, but not everyone agrees. Oh, and Rhyno, I made scrambled eggs for lunch so I could dump your hot sauce on 'em. God drat.

I'm all down for supporting and accomodating poo poo we can't reasonably fix, like Autism and other mental stuff. Splicing in a microphone, on the other hand, is fairly trivial. Changing the world to fit a disability is a Hurculean effort, changing a person to fit the world we have is generally much easier.
