People tend to care less about skimpy anime character outfits when the developer isn't trying to pretend they're doing anything other than putting a character in a sexy outfit, I guess. I'm really eagerly awaiting Digital Foundry's inevitable comparison video between the Switch and Wii U versions of Breath of the Wild. The only reason I'm not agonizing over whether to get Breath of the Wild or Nier: Automata first is because I suspect the Wii U version is going to run really poorly and/or have a noticeably decreased level of detail compared to the Switch version and I'm exactly the kind of stupid manchild who'd be bothered by that. My current plan is to hold off on Breath of the Wild until I buy a Switch in like November or something, but who knows I guess.

They weren't shy about telling us there were multiple playable characters pre-release, but yeah, the actual balance between the time you spend playing each character is different than you probably expect. If you're not worried about spoiling a little bit more: you do play as 2B for the entire first playthrough. The second playthrough is someone else (who has more than one full playthrough), and there's a third playable character too. So it's not like 2B is yanked away from you really quickly or something. I think developers should go in the opposite direction and make their characters harder to sexualize. One more reason that games like Dragon's Dogma and Dark Souls rule, you spend forever crafting your perfect waifu and then the first thing that happens is a dragon tears their chest open and gives them a huge scar or they turn into undead beef jerky.

I played the demo and I don't even understand the fixation people have drummed up around 2B. Compared to bayonetta there's nothing gratuitous, and the poo poo people bring up is positioning the camera themselves so they can look at her rear end, which is on the player
