I'm guessing it will hit Hulu in mid April when season 3 starts airing. You sure you didn't see those stupid clips that Hulu likes to confuse you with?

That was probably it, I only just got Hulu and Fargo was the first series I watched. Was pretty bummed when I finished (the excellent) season 1 and didn't have s2 to follow it up.

I just watched I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore and it was pretty great! It felt a lot like a Coen Bros movie to me with the dumb protagonists, incompetent criminals and shocking, comical violence. I didn't know anything about it going in and at one point I was like "huh, that looks like the Grocery Outlet just off Sandy". Sure enough, it was filmed in Portland. Also, that definitely is David Yow from the Jesus Lizard and now I really want a rad Saxon t-shirt.

Dammit, I just watched this and totally missed that it was filmed in portland (my hometown). I enjoyed the hell out of it though.

Story was good, but I hate just about every actor in it. And most of their performances.

I can totally see people liking it. Just not for me. Not trying to be particularly contrary, just throwing out that opinion. Ugh.

Season 1 was world changing for me, though. Loved it so much.

He was the old criminal dude. I'm glad I didn't know it was directed by Macon Blair going in or I probably would have had my expectations set too high.

He was the main villain. I spent the whole movie trying to figure out why he looked so familiar.

The Michae Che special is really good. I was skeptical because I don't like SNL but it's well worth a watch.

Yeah if I knew about the Green Room/Blue Ruin connection I would have hated I Don't Feel at Home in this World Anymore. Like I said earlier, it starts pretty great but Elijah Wood is under-used and the last 1/3 of the film is bordering on "actually just bad". I get what the movie was going for, the whole "violence outta nowhere" thing, which here is even more jarring because of the tone of the rest of the movie, but I thought it just did not work. I especially could have done without the last like 15 minutes where I just wanted it to end already.

I mean I guess some people may not have heard the hype or seen the trailers or used netflix lately and spotted the front page ads for it, but yeah, Burning Hands is obviously not a film about black greek life. Burning Sands is really good though, and it makes me think that the frat guys from my college in their whitebro frats probably didn't have to mean-mug while being beaten across the back and ribs with a paddle, in some really startling parallels to iconic films about black slavery in america.

There's a weird and upsetting point during one of the hazings ("hold your chin up! don't let it touch my hand!") where it suddenly crystalizes and you almost can see a snapshot of this black man being beaten by another black man who was suddenly given the power to beat a black man for misbehaving, and how he is obviously getting out of control but is intoxicated by the power and unwilling to give up this newfound power - or to admit that he misused it.

I wish the ending would've ended with Z calling the Dean of the Frat instead of his parents, though.

I had the privilege of speaking with three of the film's actresses (none of whom had an adequate amount of screen time, but I'm saving the story about how women are portrayed in this film for another day) — and they seemed unfazed by any potential backlash. I can’t help but wonder if this is because they traded college bureaucracies for those of Hollywood, potentially leaving them in the dark about the fact that Black greeks don’t like to “look bad,” under any circumstances. (Trust me on this: I’m the only adult member of my family who isn’t affiliated with one the Divine Nine.)

Others I spoke to were genuinely rankled by the trailer.

Officially, all Divine Nine fraternities and sororities are non-hazing organizations.

Love season 2 is on par or better than season one, IMO. It's still very refreshing with how "real" it portrays dating. Bertie is the best, and I'm glad they gave her a good sub-plot this season. Also the dim-witted neighbor/friend of Gus's was hilarious. I don't even remember if he was in season one.

At first I thought it was kind of weird how they treated Gus and Mickey's relationship as still in the early stages again this season. Maybe it's because I watched S1 a year ago, but it felt like took place over a few months at least. Then I remembered how every one of their dates and conversations is ostensibly shown on screen except maybe during the 1 month Gus spends away this season and it made more sense that they've only known each other for maybe a month. It makes me wonder how they will do a season 3 or more seasons going forward since the whole premise of the show is to portray the tough early part of a relationship. Obviously that can't continue forever.

Alsooo living in LA helps, I see places I walk by patronize and live near all the time in the show. The show is as much a love letter to modern LA living as it is a weird sitcom about britta and the guy from don't stop or well die! Or whatever. Apatow is ducking sweet

Secretly force socialism, communism and imperialism types of government onto the people of the United States of America.

The Young Offenders was a funny and charming flick about two dimwitted teens growing up in Cork, Ireland, who decide to go on a treasure hunt after they hear that a drug smuggler's boat has capsized and bales of cocaine are washing up on the coast. It's got some Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer vibes, and is quite wittily written and acted. Good if you're in the mood for something light. Just popped up on Netflix US a few days ago.

It's been posted about a ton of times in this thread and the docu thread. Basically iirc it's a documentary about camgirls - except they're young guys (what do you call them? fleeks or some poo poo? I don't care about man/boy love lingo) who get paid to get tickled. A lot. On camera.

No homo. Seriously.

It's a weird, weird thing and the documentary is laughable, horrifying, and fascinating... I mean it can't be worse than those people who do crush vids right?

What kind of tone does the doc take? I figured it'd be super kink-shamey since the fetish is based around an inherently silly thing.

Not really. It's pretty sympathetic to the participants while investigating the organizers.

It's not really about the fetish, but it is pro-tickling insofar as it features people some who are honest and open about making tickle porn. You find out pretty quickly that the only kink-shamer is weirdly the person making the specific videos the documentary is about.

The guy who made the documentary is openly bisexual and super nice and without saying too much the "kinky" aspect of the whole thing is not really even explored (except for one short sequence that arguably has very little to do with the rest of the documentary).

I was pleasantly surprised by Mr. Majestic on Prime. I was just in the mood for some old Charles Bronson movie, but as soon as I saw "written by Elmore Leonard" my expectations increased. It's not a great movie but it's good enough to recommend here if you like 70's cinema.

Yeah for a subject I fully went into expecting to LOL at how stupid and weird it was, it is very well done, has enough research to feel like a reasonably-unbiased account (although it obviously seems to be very biased inhrerently), and very much on the side of the people who take part in the videos.

Basically, imagine Louis Theroux exploring a weird kink movement - and then finding out that there's a lot of very, very strange and scary poo poo going on behind the scenes.
