I know pretty much any build you could conceive of works fine in this game, but I'm wondering what people have found to be fun. Right now I'm rocking a pretty spastic style as a sentinel with charge, energy drain, incinerate, a cryo melee and shotgun. Tech armor doesn't work quite like it did in the earlier games (I think it gives you DR when your shields are down?), but overall I'm enjoying high mobility burst damage. Does anyone have experience with explorer? Seems like an easy one to get into and the class bonuses look good, especially later in the game with higher ranks in it. Are there any major glitches with the biotic blink ability?

Tech Armor is now an "always on" power that gives you flat Damage Reduction and other perks at higher levels.

I'm rolling with Overload/Incinerate/Nova still, just unlocked the Explorer Profile which seems really good.

It's on even when shields are up? I only see the tech armor outline when I'm out of shields I'm pretty sure.

Also how do I get enough Milky Way research to get the N7 biotic boost armor set? I'm fine if the answer is cheating but I'm old someone will have to explain how.

The truth is that the ideal Adept build is Vanguard But Better.

Run Annihilation with shield restore and radius boost, Barrier with shields on kill, shield powered Lance and Charge.

Constantly get in peoples faces and point blank Lance to create enormous explosions via Biotic Echoes. Be a human bunker buster. Vanguard is just a shittier version of this

Wait do the puzzles that let you into the vault get substantially harder after Eos?

Also I have a suspicion you might be able to get the first vault on hab7 if you wait to get SAM then pull a "no gently caress you dad" and go to the vault instead of going directly to him for backup, but I didn't think of it until I already met up with him and it was too late, you can't land again.

sudoku tips: it's about the process of elimination

find a section/row/column at the start that is already mostly filled, put in the only runes that fit, find a row/column/section that is now more filled thanks to what you put and do the same thing, repeat until finished

I mean, is like planet #2 vault 6 wide, and it keeps ramping up till the last planet can only be played in hexadecimal?

I really enjoy playing Ryder mostly Logical/Professional, using Emotional when people need some realtalk, and VERY occasionally Casual for people who badly need to be mocked/insulted/told to gently caress off (Sloane/Prefect).

It makes the snark and sass mean something when it does get employed.

I have the game but I haven't played it yet, but I was planning on going logical/professional when on a mission or meeting important people, and emotional/casual when on the ship chilling with the crew unless there was any serious talk, and, like you, casual when taking to insufferable npcs to take the piss out.

Also I cranked the graphics to 11 using the trick that's been posted in here and it looks good but it does seem to make some shadows, and the lines around the forward stations behave a little weird. Hope it's something they can fix in a patch because it's a gorgeous game.

Gonna eat so many goddamn crumpets.
Has anyone encountered problems starting a new single player campaign after you've already tried the single player once?

This is on PS4 if it makes a difference, but after playing through the first planet I wanted to re-roll my Ryder, so I started a new character, but when I wake up from cryosleep, there are all these weird clipping glitches (like my Ryder is sitting within another character as the Asari doc checks us out), and there are characters in the sick bay talking about events from the first planet mission (like remnants of my prior game). And then when I get to the part where you're supposed to use your scanner to examine an electrical fault, I can't access my scanner -- the prompt never shows up and I can't pass the event. This happened twice last night as I tried to restart. I'm hoping just deleting all my save games will let me start a new game and have it work properly.

Anyone encountered this upon starting up a new game?

I'd like it a lot more if they gave a briefing on the planet as you flew there. You only fly to most places once so it wouldn't get annoying, and the text is already written.

Also empty planets can gently caress off.

My favorite drack moment so far: running around eos putting up sensors or whatever. Drack takes off running. I can see in the distance there's a little critter, and he runs up to it and stomps it. Then he gives this battle cry.

One thing I've wondered about since I started the game, and which hasn't been mentioned at all, is why there is no news from the milky way. The initiative appearantly uses some weird geth technology to scope out the andromeda galaxy before making the trip, but shouldn't there be some form of ftl communication? I just read that appearntly ME explains instantaneous communication with comm buoys that need to be placed every 150.000km, as well as the mass effect portals, but couldn't the milkyway people just send some miniature comm ships after the arcs in certain intervals?

I realise that the answer is "because it's a game" but I dunno, having people hear about the reapers and stuff in the milky way would have given it some great extra dimension.
