Cleared the third palace and I was honestly expecting a lot worse. This is why Sin Bullet was so disappointing to me. It's a total cop-out and something like this would have been cooler. Let a established mechanic win the day, don't just summon satan-tron to shoot god for you.

Maybe its because Izanagi-no-okami is literally just an improved version of Izanagi. The giant superpersona doesn't really feel like it belongs to the protagonist. If you made Arsene grow, or gun shine more and more for each person cheering, or each time you baton passed I would buy it. As it stands it feels flaccid. I dunno maybe I'm retarded and have no taste.

Arsene literally alludes to him reappearing to the protagonist and shows up for the summoning and has the chains removed from himself to reveal his true power as Satanael, literally everything you are complaining about happened, dude. It even has aspects of Arsene's designs in places with well-dressed gentleman's outfit belying the demon that hides inside. Satanael is a powered up version of Arsene.

Playing through the game again and one thing I really appreciate is how the team don't drag Ann in with them when they try to go into Kamoshida's dungeon and actually take her out of the metaverse. It feels like the team is actually being logical and not wanting Ann to get hurt, rather than Chie in Persona 4 running in headfirst while the investigation team just let her come with them. It feels like it makes sense, which is probably part of the reason I prefer 5 to 4 in terms of story and writing. Also, I keep on killing shadows due to exploiting weaknesses in Merciless difficulty. My only complaints about Goro(big spoilers) is that his boss fight didn't have some special music and the first time he summons his persona in Sae's palace we don't get a special cutscene like all the other characters, yes he mentions he summmoned it before but I would like a big cutscene like all the rest instead of a non-voiced scene out of all things

Just finished the game, clocked in at 75 hrs. Real loving solid, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Man, now I sorta want to replay Persona 4 even though I know I'll just burn myself out. Goddamn I forgot how much I like playing Persona games. The game also ends better than P4 did. Some of which makes them obsolete and some which is just their lovely skills. Devil lets you buy all items/accessories from the start for instance but no discount, Sun gives you literally all the speech perks, but Empress only gives you the increased crop yield. Star only gets you the poo poo ability to escape when surrounded, but Moon gives the full EXP bonus etc.

I do wonder what Fortune can give for NG+ given that her abilities are all based around going to see her in Shinjuku which is kind of not possible for a while. Same with Temperance for that matter (though it's probably the ability to ""skip"" class and read/make infiltration tools for her).
