pens d corps starting to show the cracks we were all expecting sans letang. i think maatta looks especially bad, and i'm getting more and more pessimistic about his overall outlook. he's disturbingly slow for a young guy and if anything it seems like he's making worse decisions with the puck as he gets older. his career WOWY's don't look great and it's looking more and more like he might turn into a bust i would even be open to sitting him and playing gaunce instead for gm 5. normally i would just say shelter him, but we really don't have the depth for much sheltering at d

Dubinsky had him beaten in OT in Game 3 and MAF got back just in time to have it ring off his lid. I didn't see the game tonight due to my own beer league game but Columbus has played pretty well and maybe deserves a better fate. That said I predicted Pens in 5 so maybe I can actually get one first round series right without being red xed.

I didn't see the game tonight but I think Maatta has been pretty good this series in the games I've seen. He's Hal Gill slow but he usually makes up for it with how smart he is with the puck/his positioning.

I missed the game tonight due to work but the only defenseman who I've noticed to be bad a lot is Ian Cole. Though Maatta is pretty slow and is probably getting exploited because of that.

CBJ were the better team in the first and arguably the third, Pens came back to life in the second. MAF gave up some ugly ones, Bob gave up a couple in close he probably should've had as he has this whole postseason, but both also made some strong saves, including a huge one by in the third. It reminds me a bit of 2014 where neither goalie was particularly good

It obviously cost them tonight and could have easily cost them in any of the first three. Can't play comeback hockey all the time.

The pens D had trouble accounting for columbus' D being so aggressive offensively. This makes sense, as it was do-or-die for the jackets, but it's unsustainable for an entire series - as it's too risky -Even for "safe is death" torts. This game was an anomaly, the pens will win the series, And Mitch McConnell will remain majority leader of the senate as evil continues to reign.

The Jackets seemed to be giving up an abnormally high number of 2-on-1s which seemed to start from one D pinching to try and generate offense, hanging the second out to dry with no forward having dropped back to cover the position. The Pens cashed in on a couple of them, but I didn't see one at all tonight; whatever they were doing wrong seems to have been fixed, at least for now.

Poor Oilers :[ Hopefully Chiarelli will take this game as a sign they still need help and then he can trade Looch for a non-playoff team's 1st rounder and maybe it will turn into a 1st overall and then they could get a good player to help the team do better next year and win the Stanley Cup imo.

Honestly, I'm just done after tonight's game. I felt positive going into the game, but I stopped watching after it was 4-0, and seeing it end up 7-0 just makes things worse. All those positive feelings are gone. That was the worst game the Oilers played all season, and it's beyond frustrating when the Oilers had been the better team in the series, could've been up 3-0 if they didn't fall asleep in Game 1, and instead now they're tied 2-2. But there's no chance in hell they're winning another game in this series. They're done. Stick the in them, they aren't coming back. At least we made the playoffs, at least we won 2 games, and at least the Flames still suck more than we do. Now hopefully Chiarelli does some work in the off-season to make us better, because this team isn't going far the way they are right now. Congrats on your series win, Sharks fans.

Yeah, it's one game. Teams have to "learn to win in the playoffs" and all that. Maybe the Oilers will get all their learning through failure done in one concentrated sucktastic game. It's not quite doom and gloom territory yet.
