I think if I was a kid I'd probably find television animation way more inspiring in that the modern crop of post-Adventure Time shows are all creator-driven and hugely personal and tend to be helmed by younger people.

So I saw Secret Life of Pets on Netflix and watched it. It was just kind of a bunch of stuff that happened. No one felt particularly motivated (maybe Gidget?) and Snowball kept turning on a dime. They also used that "cute thing, but attacks" repeatedly. I think they probably should have cut back on the characters and tried to develop their relationships more. Even Duke's emotional subplot fell flat for me because no one had any real time to develop, they were busy reacting to plot mechanics. Backgrounds were pretty? Them modeling the cat's rear end in a top hat was weird, though. Nobody else seemed to have that. I guess I'm not surprised it made a billion dollars or whatever, not in a world where the only thing that rivals porn are cat videos. Though the film seemed to not like cats much.

I look at this and I can't help but get the feeling that this isn't from the original How The Grinch Stole Christmas at all. The color seems off and the face seems detailed differently. Actually, upon further reflection, it's the brown nose. And also the description below that says that it's from a promo for when they released the original on VHS for the first time. Explains why it's so cheap.

But there has been some primo stuff on there for next to nothing, for example a sketch of Aladdin confronting the jerk on a horse that ended up going for $10. I think someone probably died and their collection is being sold off for whatever, because usually something like that starts at a hundo no matter what it is.

You either match her up against another elemental god, redact her godhood, figure out why she's a god or... I don't know, Elsa finds true love? Elsa's not fun enough to road trip with. Elsa's OP, the only thing that gave the first story conflict was her hosed-up emotional issues. Without that, it's DBZ.

I remember Aladdin and the King of Thieves being pretty decent, at least. Return of Jafar, not so much, but of all the DisneyToon DTV sequels, it's still in the inoffensive upper echelon.
