So why is the security level even a thing in the casino? Shadow Sae knows you're there. She's toying with you.

Also, how did they even 'create' a cognitive Joker for Akechi to kill in the Metaverse?

besides just being a gameplay mechanic thing, security level is basically how much of a threat the palace is assessing you as. if youre stalking around it's hard to imagine as a tangible threat, but when you keep getting caught youre creating a ruckus. This is also why the level always spikes to 99% when you send the calling card, because then its real palpable that you're gonna accomplish your goal

someone answered the second part, but the metaverse distorts a certain place but can extend beyond that distortion, so that interrogation room isnt distorted because sae doesn't really see it in a warped way, and as long as she believes Joker is there there's a cognitive version of Joker there too

I hope to refer to the thread as little as possible on my first playthrough, but I still wanted to drop off impressions from time to time. I'm only April 19th but I've been to the Palace a couple times, and I've met the Death confidant. I appreciate the way the game's pacing coaxes you into the proper mindset--the first couple days actually do feel like moving to a new city because I got lost constantly. Likewise, I went from "gee, this guy seems like an rear end in a top hat but I don't want to give him a stroke" to "on second though, I don't actually mind if he ends up a vegetable" at a very natural clip. Nice menus, too. :v:

They should do it, but only on the condition it has a hosed up tiny mutant hand like Caroline's

The tiny hand is only in the cut-in not the all-out attack finish though.

I used to write the idea off, but after a lot of P5 I'm beginning to see the merit in how P3 made the party less buddy-buddy and more separated from the MC in both writing and mechanics. I dunno how it holds since I didn't enjoy FES' gameplay enough to make it much further than Block 2, but whenever you have the whole party around and chatting Joker starts to feel like a nonentity, especially when some scenes don't even give him a prompt.

Maybe, but Persona 3 didn't deliver on the concept well at all.

P5 didn't have an equivalent of Naoto's 'are you a pack of imbeciles?!' face, which is a pity.

I like that the whole world doesn't revolve around our lovely boring protagonist. If anything, I think he's too important in some of the social links, but of course he has to be there for mechanical reasons.

Easiest way is just using a fusion w/the queen's necklace treasure demon. But a bunch of the other early game shadows have it too. https://chinhodado.github.io/persona5_calculator/index.html#/skill

If you pick every single one of the joke dialogue options, he does have something resembling a personality, which is better than most games with a player cipher protagonist.

He's also way more expressive than P3 or P4's protagonists.

That poo poo-eating grin he puts on when the post-Palace 6 plan successfully goes off is a Moment of the Year contender.

I think the P5 protagonist has way more voiced lines than the p3 and p4 protagonist combined so that also helps.

if so that's pretty wild, it's in like every jrpg

I guess DQ has also been fairly fishing averse
