Having 9k life, 46/40 dodge, ele affliction immunity, and 25% regen makes it really hard to die.

Like what a weird loving thing to pull out of thin air and then start getting internet detective about it. Is this really the hill you wanna die on ? What are you expecting? A heartfelt apology for something that I am literally completely clueless about? You should stop eating piss cheerios too I think

I don't think so since ignite is the status ailment you're immune to while phasing and RF is just a burn degen. Like you can kill it with a dousing flask but that's because that specifically removes burns as well as making you immune to ignites.

game good players bad Anything to look for in a character who wants to spec in Firestorm on a budget? Likely going Elementalist though I might try an Inquisitor version down the line. Only condition is that it shouldn't rely on double-dipping shenanigans given the upcoming changes to that.

That would have been my first character I actually ever levelled and I also used a carcass jack the entire time I played him but oh well

Honestly you could probably level up SR and still not pay much for it. Or use blight as it remains mana cheap all the way to 20. edit; Best option: Wither.

God I hate the trials so much, there I am mapping just fine, invested a reasonable amount of chaos into getting a 5 link hezmanas and 5 link chest. Nothing has been scary at all so I decided to go back and do the merc trials, get caught out by spinning spikes, panic, miss the logout button and goodbye slayer. I really dislike that you can't outgear the traps, I have 5.5k hp and if anything it makes the traps harder to deal with because my flasks can't keep up with the percentage based drop.

Trials are the #2 reason I will never play HC in this game. #1 is the feckless UI that's unable to communicate a single thing about monster abilities to the player ever.

I've considered playing sc to learn the various difficult things before doing them on hc but where is the fun in that,I dont think I would enjoy the game if I didnt get mad when I died or have my heart race when scary stuff spawns. Speed levelling up and getting a bit further trying new things is probably more interesting than grinding the same map 24/7 anyway, I'm pretty sure I ended up currency positive still even losing the gear and gems that I did. But still, gently caress trials.

You'll get a bit mad when you die in SC as well, though only once you're close to/over 90, and nowhere near the HC level obviously. I'd just get too mad playing HC. To all the people who have hit 90+ on HC, I salute you, and will never join you.

Just don't be like some of my friends that say softcore is boring then proceed to rip 10 characters before getting to level 50 on any of them and quit the game because playing through normal is boring.

I don't know, I find the most fun part of the game to be when your character really starts getting more powerful after you've finished n/c/m and can equip better gear/have more of your tree filled out. Having to play with one hand on my log out macro just in case anything remotely scary happens kind of not only defeats the purpose of it actually being hardcore but also just seems a lot less enjoyable than going balls to the wall fast and still having that feeling "loving poo poo" when you rip and lose your XP. To each their own obviously but in a game where latency/Fps can just gently caress you as well I'm gonna stick to babby core.

The best part of this game, like D2, is watching a plan come together. It happens differently and at different times for each build, but there's always that breakpoint where you spend the strength you saved and put on that piece of gear from your stash that laces it all together. Nobody ever asked for a HC version of Path of Building.

I still don't use a logout macro to this day, I always felt like it was a tad cheaper than trying to alt f4 and most of the time, by the time I remember to alt f4 I'm too panicked to hit it or it's too late. I do quite enjoy the learning curve when i come back to the game every few leagues . levelling quicker and quicker after a rip and learning what I can push and can't. I'm pretty sure I play this game more like its rogue legacy. Each death has been easier to deal with despite being further progressed and I'm definitely going to throw them some more cash for a supporter pack so I can spend coins on the new stash tabs that came out since I last played.

The reason people use logout macros is because alt-f4 doesn't remove your character from the world immediately and usually results in the death you'd be trying to avoid. On the other hand, clicking logout bumps you out right away.

zxqv8 posted:The reason people use logout macros is because alt-f4 doesn't remove your character from the world immediately and usually results in the death you'd be trying to avoid. This is false. GGG has said multiple times that pressing alt+f4 immediately sends the server the logout packet before even attempting to close the application. People are either stuck in their old ways from before this change was made (literally years ago), refuse to believe GGG, or are just don't know this is how it works. Holyshoot posted:They design the game around being able to log out. So you're only hurting yourself not doing that. Hth They design the game around people having the ability to log out, not under the assumption that people will always do it. They don't, for example, put mechanics in the game where the only solution is 'logout or die'. There is no problem with people never using a logout macro; I personally don't. Hth

With the way I play I'd probably be better off manually going escape+ click than trying to alt f4. I know the game is designed in a way that it's a solution, using a macro has just always felt wrong to me in my enjoyment of the game.

There's an order of magnitude difference in time investment at risk in hardcore. Those stakes make it fundamentally more interesting for me. It's the same as the difference between playing poker at a casino for real money vs playing at home betting quarters just for the hell of it. One is fun, the other is ok I guess if there's nothing else to do. As for the alt-f4 poo poo, the truth lies somewhere in the middleİ. Mashing it at the barest hint of danger is kinda lame, doing it when you think lag or something else weird is happening seems pretty reasonable.
