The prohibitive list does not exclude the Virtual Boy exclusive Jack Bros. so expect someone in a Jack Frost mascot suit to crash the party midway through.

Apparently Tyranny underperformed, which doesn't bode well for the current resurgence of isometric RPGs.

FirstAidKite posted:Was it the original Wasteland that had something where it'd tell you to turn to a specific page for the copy protection thing, but the book containing said copy protection stuff had its own stories that never showed up in the actual game in order to uh...do something? The Gold Box AD&D games had this, you'd come to certain plot points that told you to read what happens in one of the entries in a separate book that came boxed with the game, and half the entries were fake. If I recall the hintbook told you which ones were the fake ones.

StrixNebulosa posted:But...how many isometric rpgs are actually being made right now? Well I guess it's more accurate to say that it's the end of the resurgence, since Torment: Tides of Numenera was the last big title from that initial crowdfunding push that gave us Wasteland 2 and Pillars of Eternity and Shadowrun Returns and The Banner Saga. I know the guy who made XCOM has a strategy RPG he's developing right now and there's the sequel to PoE, but other than that it's up in the air.

I mean, the resurgence brought back a nice handful of massive games that you can lose hours to - and they also reminded the market why these things died in the first place: they're kinda tedious to play.
