Hello games chat thread I woke up a short bit ago. I'm hungry, I've got a cheese sandwich from sheetz in the fridge but I don't think I'm in the mood for that at the moment so I might make myself something else. Dunno what though. Might put some eggs in the rice cooker to hard boil them, that sounds like a nice little meal. I've been thinking about doing a stream as well but idk, it's kinda late and idk if anybody would even be up for being in a call this late on a tuesday night lol. Chances are I'm just gonna sit here and do nothing instead of actually picking something to do :P

The Evil Within's plot disappointed me since it started out surreal and dreamlike with all the weird things going on and the main character barely reacting to any of it, then as the game went on I realised it was just poor writing and it was a pretty standard horror game.

My favorite thing about The Evil Within's story is that presenting Sebastian as a dumb meathead who does not care about telekinetic ghosts and just wants to shoot his way out (and it works) is 100% intentional.

There was one room in Evil Within where you're confined to a very small space with two killable pyramidhead analogues. There's some ammo and supplies in the room but I was on the razor's edge of having enough firepower to survive even though the exit opens after a set period of time. I probably died there a dozen or so times. I was playing through it with my horror buddy watching and she was super patient while I experimented with different strategies. My problem with the game was that I liked the early parts where supplies are scarce and you can lure enemies into traps, but by the end you're full on Leon Kennedying around, shotgunning waves of soldiers in the face while people fire rockets at you and it just feels like it lost track of itself. I thought the story was cool and the way the safe room was handled was neat (I did a little game show spiel anytime we went back to the locker room with keys), but one playthrough was enough.
