Glock trigger pull is vastly shorter than a double action revolver due to the striker fired action. Some Taurus are janky like the millennium series, but the TCP is fine. I also have a Taurus 85 which is a 357 and the loving cylinder freezes up after like 24 shots. If you want a wonder 9 to carry you're not gonna beat a Glock imo

If I were a parent in this scenario and I had the free time, I would absolutely take that baby to court to testify. What are they going to do, put a tiny little baby on the stand? Accuse it of telling tiny baby lies? All of this is hilarious to me.

Could always go with a CZ P-01, it's basically an aluminum framed 75 compact that's dimensionally similar to a G19 and consequently a plausible carry option that's still fun at the range (and has a fun/dumb gimmick of coming with a NATO serial number). Also no frame safety normally since it's a DA/SA pistol with a decocker.

It's genuinely pretty hard to beat a Glock from a pure utility standpoint though.

The Glock striker is partially cocked by the slide. The trigger pulls it back the rest of the way, so it's lighter and shorter than a revolver.

Depends on how much practice you want to do. Revolvers and Glocks (and similar pistols) have no safeties that need to be disengaged, so you can just point and shoot without fumbling the safety. Semi-autos often have a higher capacity than revolvers of the same size and power; you may not find it necessary, but bad luck happens and 15 rounds is better to have than 6 if you miss 3 or 4 times.

I prefer single-stack 1911s in part because the grips are very thin and comfortable for any hand size, though obviously you lose capacity for it.

On the other hand someone who sits around designing underage porn games is unlikely to put up much of a fight, high capacity is not really necessary. I would recommend a high-velocity round (such as .357 magnum) to ensure you are able to penetrate the fat rolls.

Am I wrong for getting weird vibes?

quote:

Me (27/F) Guy (27/M)

I recently started chatting with this guy. We have loads in common, similar sense of humor and interests, likes, etc. He's pretty nice and I thought we'd be on track to set up a date. We've been chatting for about 3 days when he tells me he has bipolar disorder. My mom has bipolar and it's very well managed with her medications and therapy, which I tell him, and assure him it isn't a deal breaker. He tells me he doesn't take medicine or go to therapy, so I ask him what works for him to manage it. He says he "just does." So, I was a little put off by it but still decided to give it a shot. Today, he texts me all urgently telling me he had a mental breakdown at work. I'm really put off by this because we've been talking for like 3-4 days and we don't really know each other well enough for me to get involved. I asked him if he was alright, but he hasn't texted back. I really don't know what to do here. I'm getting uncomfortable vibes by all this, but don't want to be an rear end in a top hat either. Am I wrong? Is this a red flag situation or is it just me?
TL;DR: guy I barely know professes his mental state to me and I'm getting bad vibes and don't know whether or not to proceed.

This guy I've known for four days and haven't actually dated yet admitted to refusing treatment for bipolar and called me about having a mental breakdown, is this a red flag?

You shall not pass!
so this has gotta be "she pulled her hair back into a ponytail but not and fully enjoyed going underwater" guy all growed up right?

I'm a [18 M], and I'm wondering if my gf's [17 F] swimsuit habit is weird for women in general to do?

quote:

So the title alone isn't specific enough, so I'll explain.

So you know how bikinis are just basically waterproof underwear, right?

Well my girlfriend is fairly modest/conservative and would never wear a bikini...and so she wears a crop top that's almost like a one piece but stops a few inches above her belly button, and she wears mid-thigh shorts.

But however, she wears a bikini underneath, as if she were wearing underwear under normal clothes.

I didn't get to visually see this, as she didn't want me to see her in just a bikini; but she told me she does this.

And her reasoning is that "putting her breasts, vulva, or butt straight onto the swimsuit fabric just simply feels weird and gross. Even in a swimsuit, underwear is always mandatory for her."

Her habit is definitely uncommon/abnormal...most women just wear the basic swimsuit and that's it...but is it a straight up weird habit for women in general to do, though?

As a guy, my swim trunks come with netting...but swim shorts for women don't, and I can imagine my bare penis/butt being on the fabric would feel pretty weird if the netting wasn't there, so I'm not against what my girlfriend does.

tl;dr: My girlfriend wears a two piece that's almost a one piece, consisting of mid-thigh shorts and a top that's like that of a one piece swimsuit, but exposes a bit of her belly from belly button and below.

And under that, she wears a bikini as if she were wearing underwear under normal clothes, because for her it feels awkward for her to wear just one layer and not wear underwear, even if it's just in a swimsuit.

Is that a weird habit for a woman to do?

Satanically Summoned Citrus

Boyfriend (28M) spends his whole paycheck on frivolous purchases, then expects me (28F) to pick up the tab on everything as soon as he is broke.

quote:

My boyfriend (28M) and I (28F) have been dating for about 7 months and I moved into his apartment about a month ago. My salary is significantly higher than his (more than double because he is in grad school and can only work part-time), so we agreed that we would split rent, utilities, cable/internet evenly, but I would pay for things like groceries, household necessities, etc. until he finishes school. Not a problem at all.

I also pay for almost all of our recreational expenses and most major household items (furniture, etc) and let him chip in whatever he can. I also do not have a problem with this. The issue I have is that whenever he gets paid he spends literally every dollar he has left after paying rent and bills on frivolous purchases...a PlayStation 4 after he already has an xbox one, PS3 and Wii, a $300 universal remote for the TV, a new . Literally any time he has spare cash he will find something to spend it on.

This wouldn't bother me at all except for the fact that it means I have to pick up the slack. He'll spend $500 on a remote control helicopter, then ask me for money because he can't afford gas for his car the next day. It's gotten to the point where I don't have any money left over for myself because I have to pick up so much of his slack.

I've spoken to him but he doesn't seem to get it. He blows me off and says "it's his money he can spend it how he wants" and then he gets mad at me for trying to control him. He doesn't realize that I am essentially paying for his "toys" because as soon as his bank account is down to $0 it means I have to pay for everything. It is becoming a real point of contention in our relationship, but everything else is great, so I'd like to find a way to resolve this. Any thoughts?

TL;DR; My salary is significantly higher than my boyfriend's. He see's this as an opportunity to blow all of his cash on frivolous purchases and let me pick up the tab on everything else. I end up being broke and unable to spend any money on myself while he buys whatever he wants not realizing I end up paying for it. What do I do?

I mean the answer seems really simple to me.

My (25M) girlfriend (22F) is melting down right now on our vacation.

quote:

I am currently on a four day vacation with my girlfriend. We flew across the country for an extended weekend, and she lost her poo poo when we got here at the airport. I need some advice on how to handle this.

So, lets start off with the basics. The plan was for us to fly down to Florida and go on a 3 night cruise. We booked it a few weeks ago, and were pretty pumped about it, until we were packing last night. It turns out I couldn't find my birth certificate ( I don't have a passport, and photo ID+ birth certificate can substitute for domestic cruises). I have no idea where it went. I tore apart the entire house looking, and it was no where to be found. I spent the entire night making phone calls to the cruise line and to different angencies asking wtf I could do. And basically the bottom line was: nothing. I couldn't go on the cruise without it.

I felt awful/ guilty/ embarrassed/ stupid for misplacing it.

So I told my girlfriend that I don't think there is anything I can do. At first she seemed a little dissapointed (we both were obviously), but she was able to keep her head on straight and said something to the effect of "let's still fly down and have a good time".
So I immediately booked a NICE hotel, I'm currently looking out the window over the ocean, I figured I should do her right and hopefully make up for my mistake.

This morning comes around and she is a little quiet and "off" all morning. I figured it was because we were at the airport by 5AM. Super tired. The flight goes smoothly, we land on time.

When we landed I checked the weather for the weekend, thunderstorms all day every day, all weekend. This sends her over the edge and into meltdown mode. She started to cry and she tells me how hurtful it was that I couldn't find my birth certificate. She told me the only thing that would make her happy right then is if she was on the drat cruise ship. She tells me that if I REALLY wanted to have gone I would have found my certificate earlier. Just a lot of anger and emotion flowing out, and all of it directed at me.

I get it. I know what a bummer this is for her, and I feel awful. But I'm doing my best to make things right. It was an honest mistake. But I feel that she is still resenting me a bit, she just doesn't seem okay right now. Do I deserve all this anger that is directed at me? Is there something else I should be doing to fix this?

TL,DR: I botched our cruise by mistake. Girlfriend basically hates me.

Who's funnier to laugh at, the lady who got mad at them flying down anyway despite it being her idea? Or the guy who spends the money on plane tickets and a cruise, but can't be arsed to shell out for a passport/find his loving birth certificate?
