I don't think that this young person is going to be able to vote, my postal ballot hasn't reached me yet and even if it turns up tomorrow I think it might be too late. My constituency has a huge SNP majority with Labour in distant second (Tories got 7% in 2015 lol), so I guess it won't matter.

It's quite exciting to have my vote actually matter instead of pissing into the wind as Andrea Leadsom sails to victory again.

I'm still holding on to a fair amount of pessimism, because the last ten times the polls were mixed between "okay event for my preferences" and "oh god no" it went sliiiiiding into god no territory and thus I have decided that god detests me ever being happy. This model definitely makes some unproven assumptions but has a worrying predictive power so far. you can't play handshake strongman dickwave with a whole crowd, and how else can he defeat his enemies

Mr. Flunchy posted:Just read this somewhat doom-laden article about the next five years in general and was wondering what people here thought of it: Relax, I seriously doubt it's going to be that bad. The economy might get hit, unemployment might rise a bit, but in the end this is still one of the strongest economies in the world, it's going to survive somehow. Still, it's always good to save some money just in case, especially in times like these, so if you haven't, maybe start now.

Endless circular arguements about leaks because bad leader and he's a bad leader because of leaks. Countless dickheads on twitter declaring variations of "oh actually he seems ok". Too loving late. The amount of people I have seen today directly (or indirectly) calling for internment camps has really disheartened me. I take it far more people think Hitler might have had some good ideas than they let on?

Really, I think that'd be self-evident to even the most fanatical Corbyn supporters.

He's lost an election while having had to fight his party almost as much as the opposition, and will have come drat close. That's not a result that says he's inherently hopeless and could never win, as claimed; that suggests short sighted idiots sabotaged a good thing.
