The real lesson here is that you should never make far-reaching foreign policy decisions on an empty stomach. Tensions flair every Ramadan. It's like, the opposite of what Ramadan is supposed to be about. We need a Muslim Charles Dickens to invent a jolly "Father Ramadan" figure to make the spirit of Ramadan more of a thing as opposed to some self-righteous comments about charity. It needs to be fun for people to have buy in.

Unless , Trump has Narcissistic Personality Disorder pretty loving clearly. The APA has a battle during the election cycle between their official stance of "We do not diagnose political figures without personally examining them" and a bunch of psychiatrists arguing that it was ethically irresponsible to not warn the public that the leader of the free world might be mentallly ill.

Might be an ISIS-related attack? There's been a fair amount of domestic news/propaganda on finding plotters over the past few years. I doubt it's MEK/NCRI terrorists whose MO is more drive-by assassinations/bombings, but there's that precedent, too. (BTW both Gulliani, Howard Dean, and other US politicians have lobbied for NCRI.)

If Putin was behind the Qatar thing, he's owning the world right now. I wish we could just Seal Team 6 foreign legimate rulers. He got Trump elected definitely indirectly and maybe even directly through voting machines. Wouldn't be a shock if he got Brexit pushed through. He probably owns Trump and definitely owns Kushner. There are reports of large Russian troll factories posting to get us fighting online everywhere, along with fake news (before Trump hijacked that term). Anecdotally this is the only place I can go online where the comments arent flooded with misinformation and hate by fake accounts, and honestly think it is just because of 10 bucks. No loving way we have a large contingent of "patriots" applauding the dictator of Russia. Some of them are legitimate, but theyre morons being driven by large fake posting operations giving some sense of consensus within certain online communities. I feel like we are in a war with Russia right now and dont realize it because its on a new front. Putin needs to loving go, then we try and pick up the domestic pieces.

Whomever is attacking, I would fully expect Iranians, from basijis to north tehran socialites, to rally around the government especially after the last election. I also don't expect Khomenei to advise or order anything that ups the ante, unless it's Syria or MEK related. Rugoberta Munchu posted:Another attack at the Khomeini Mausoleum so it's looking more and more related to the Qatar/Hezbollah fallout. Not really Qatar. I think some of you are thinking too much into this attack in Iran. It's not like Iran doesn't have domestic terror groups and they've attacked before. In fact I think Khameini himself nearly got killed in a bomb attack in the 80s. There's video of it even. What I'm saying is, we aren't necessarily looking at yet another big mideast war because the Iranian Parliament was attacked. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the whole Qatar situation either. On a region where shootings/bombings are commonplace adding 2+2 together doesn't always equal 4.
