Alas despite my brother being extremely well read on politics, working (loosely) in the field and thoroughly schooling us all on why we should vote labour, my parents are both voting conservative. My dad's reason is that he thinks the tories will be better for the economy - are there any articles or videos from economists explaining the implications one way or the other? I remember there were some great ones for Brexit.

+1 for Labour in Portsmouth "Labour have never won here" South, a seat so safely not ever going to vote Labour that the Tories and Lib Dems were bringing in activists from across Hampshire for the final push

The megaphone I heard before is actually a car with labour flags all over it and four old blokes taking it in turns on the megaphone, they look like they're having a great time. Every time I've been out and about this week I've seen labour activists and nothing from Tory, I'm hoping we can flip it this year.

I'm sunk in a deep depression today, and it's been building all week. I think it's because I genuinely have no hope of a good outcome. For Brexit and Trump and 2015 I had hope. False hope, but hope nonetheless. Now I have nothing. The tories are getting their landslide and Britain is gonna get completely hosed because the tories have proof that no matter what they put in their manifesto, no matter how blatantly evil they are, they will win. So prepare for policies that gently caress us over harder and faster than before because why both with a pretense anymore?
