Just got in from the pub. What a loving thing to come into. Even a Hung Parliament, or a reduced majority, would be a literally incredible result. Genuinely excited now - heart is really fluttering - even if I know in my head that there's a real chance the Tories will just creep over the line like the snake headed bastards they are

Steve2911 posted:Would another election not be fairly terrible? Labour has run an amazing campaign and voters have been more energised than pretty much ever. I can't see that happening again. If another election is called right away the Tories have to deal with the fallout of being the ones to call two unnecessary elections in the middle of the Brexit negotiations. A lot of the people who voted for them on the basis of 'stability' would be royally pissed. There's every chance they'd do even worse.

Beware - on radio 4 now they're saying a very high number of seats in the exit poll prediction were very uncertain. When we see the first couple come in we should get a sense of which way they will actually fall.

Cerebral Bore posted:Are you kidding? The Tories have most likely been shown to be completely hollow on the strong and stable front, and the political momentum is entirely in Labour's favour right now. If another election is held within the year, Labour is just going to keep gaining. Not only that, but the PLP would smell blood in the water and a chance to get a government. If anything can get these ratfuckers in line, it's electability.

SNP losing masses of seats to Conservatives really highlights how poorly the Tories have done in England. And Labour can blame poo poo SNP and Scottish Labour showing for any eventual Tory majority. gently caress the SNP. Said it before, saying it again.
