I'll pile on that sentiment. It is a very limiting diet, and I'm sure the fact that I just couldn't bring myself to eat the same strange combinations half the time helped. Urgh, chicken breasts with cauliflower or brocolli. Sooooo boring. All the low carb stuff was gimmicky, wrong tasting, and just plain expensive. Just eat whatever and track everything mercilessly using myfitnesspal or fitbit. You'll be a lot happier.

The DPRK posted:Can anyone explain why the Barclays bosses are in trouble? I understand that they had dealings with Qatar, but why is that bad? Qatar lent Barclays £12b to avoid a bailout. Barclays promised £300m to Qatari investors for 'advisory services' for a development in the Gulf. Barclays also loaned the state £3b. The two accusations are: Was the 300m an inducement to invest in Barclays, which was undisclosed. And was the £3b lent to Qatar then used to buy shares in Barclays.

For those wondering about the Mosque 'attack' this morning apparently some bellend nicked a shoehorn (yes really) from the Mosque and brandished it like a knife while yelling incoherently before tasting several hundred volts from a cop's gun-taser. No-one else was injured. I hope it was a racist attack because if that's the best that Islamophobes can do I look forward to a spate of thumb men getting owned by tasers while failing to injure anyone.

Keto is very difficult to follow. It's main advantage is that you can cut calories to very low levels while still feeling satiated and lose a lot of weight in a short period of time. However you may also: – Get headaches – Have bread dreams e.g. literally dream about eating carbohydrates and wake up in a panic – Annoy all of your friends – Annoy your significant other – Stinky breath – If you already lift weights, I found that I lost a significant amount of my gains doing it (need carbs for lifting) – Only poo poo once every 10 days – Knock yourself out of ketosis by eating something carby and get headaches I would strongly advise following the Quick Start guide in the general diet and exercise megathread in YLLS rather than doing Keto.

I don't want to discourage goons from trying to lose weight, but please bear in mind that the vast majority of people who try to do so through dieting gain it all back once they stop. So if you want to lose long term, this means that you will need to keep that diet up long term too. Cutting all joy from your eating for three months might let you drop a few kilos, but unless you have a time specific reason to do so (fitting into that wedding dress, climbing 8a, passing weigh-in for the big fight, being allowed onto Space Mountain) I'd suggest that the misery is probably not worth it seeing as three months after that you'll be back where you started. Consider making a sustainable lifestyle change instead (or as well!), like maybe joining your work 5-aside league, or getting off the bus a couple stops early, or drinking two beers a night fewer, or moving to Alaska and becoming a dog musher.

Just a big piece of beef. Are you American? Muffins aren't super common in England, crumpet are the preferable circular breakfast bread. Pork is far more common in Ireland than beef. The whole 'corned beef and cabbage' thing is a US-Irish thing. Now excuse me while I boil this absurdly salty gammon in a big pot with cabbage and horrible floury potatoes for 14 hours until nothing of joy remains. Christ I hate the food in Ireland growing up.

Wow, I triggered quite a discussion. I eat lots of nuts and fresh green veg and one meat meal a day. I've found that my energy levels crash if I'm not generous with my vegetables. It's possible I'm not eating a 'proper' keto diet, keto is just what various friends of mine have called it when I've mentioned my daily diet. I've seen substantial fat loss in the six months or so I've been on it and my palate has completely changed. I don't like bread any more. I don't really like alcohol any more (prefer ). All the foods that used to be yummy feelgood crap just don't appeal to me any more. Except sweets and chocolate. I indulge in those occasionally. I don't even like pizza These days a raw carrot or bell pepper feels fun to me. I can taste the sugar in them. I've wound up doing less strength training since changing my diet and more cardio but it all feels good. I was very into bodyweight strength before, so 'less' is still a reasonable amount. Part of the reason for less strength training now is that I have a mild rotator cuff injury that I'm rehabbing. I like my diet and its effects, and it's actually cheaper than my previous diet because everything but the meat is cheap and I frequently raid my local supermarket for reduced chickens and poo poo. I agree on making a sustainable change rather than crash dieting. I'm happy with this, so I reckon I'll continue eating like this forever. Oh, and I poo poo a little less but I think that's because I'm eating less. Usually once a day, once in 2 days at a minimum Braggart fucked around with this message at 11:24 on Jun 21, 2017 |

A thin smear of marmite on buttered toast, then covered in scrambled eggs, is divine. Marmite is insanely crammed with glutamates, which is why it tastes amazing, and makes other things amazing by proximity. As an american I guess you probably want to put corn syrup on it to make it acceptable to your awful baby palate.

Cool, glad it works for you and you've been able to adjust to it permanently rather than as a crash diet. I wasn't trying to attack you specifically, just I've seen plenty of friends try dieting to lose weight and fail long term, and a couple take up sports and succeed. I counted calories for a time to drop weight to climb a long term bouldering project and it worked great, but it came back once I stopped. A few years later, moving 12km from work and cycling every day was a much more fun way of incidentally achieving the same result. I wish I hadn't read the comments on this.
