At no point did I ever do anything that actually made me feel like a Paladin.

I also only bothered to unlock the Gold Saucer in the last week before Stormblood. I really regret doing it because now my chat is constantly spammed with messages about where I can or can't play Triple Triad.

I liked the 60-70 quests for the Gladiator callback but given that there's a loving war you'd think we would've gone and done some protecting the weak or something.

Man, you can really confuse the game with the saved character appearance .dats. I just made it change species in the creator (it reverts to default appearance). Weird and not useful in any way, but cool to see how it works. I'm also joining the "how did SE miss this" crowd, although I haven't found the color values yet. I wonder how they're planning on fixing it.

The very first Samurai quest puts you in the coliseum right away. You have to wait like 63 levels as a Gladiator before you can do that poo poo.

Yellow Gatherer Scrip tip - With all HQ ilvl 290 crafted gear (unmelded) plus the Gameni food from Kugane puts you at 702 GP and 1007 gathering/989 perception. This rotation plus the "Discerning Eye + Impulsive Appraisal II / Discerning Eye + Impulsive Appraisal II / Discerning Eye + Methodical Appraisal" is enough to get 470 on all gathering nodes, including Legendary. With enough GP to hit Sharp Vision II and push gathering chance to 98%. EDIT: If you're diligent with this rotation and hit a new node every 6 minutes, you can pull in about 800 scrips per Eorzean day. Keeping up 1-2 more DoTs isn't nearly as fun as slamming a bunch of forbidden chakras, in my opinion anyways. They also have pretty decent numbers. They're no SAM, but they're no slouches either.

That would make sense yeah. It doesn't seem like you can do too much that's a) permanent and b) visible to other players, and none of it affects game play. I think I've stopped rising to the occasion as of tonight unrelatedly, PF Susanex is a total slog. Yesterday and today I ran into like three groups where they lied about something or another before queueing (if someone hadn't cleared, farm when they actually were looking for a clear carry, etc). Been leveling DoL classes, are there any particular mats that sell well so far? I noticed fish sell for basically nothing. Koppranickel mats fly off the shelves, but not for mind blowing numbers.

A system like BDOs reserving where a buy order is placed with an X amount of Gil put as collateral. The moment the item goes into the market the highest reserve collateral wins and the item is sold to that person. The person that sold the item only gets what he put the item up for, everything else is lost into the ether. By eliminating the "I want to sell this quick" mentality, because items will sell instantly either way, people are compelled to maximize their potential profits.
