For the original 3 Nintendo games and I think at least one or two of the Super Nintendo Final Fantasy games, the random encounter theme was called Battle Theme 1, and the standard boss theme was called Battle Theme 2. I assume it's called 1.x because it's an arrangement and not the literal BGM track.

The women of the Miqo'te Seekers of the Sun don't really have much more meaningful last names than the guys; they're literally their father's name without the tribal indicator. Y'shtola Rhul means that her father is Y'rhul Nunh (or possibly Y'rhul Tia now). And the Keepers of the Moon males don't even get unique names- they get their mother's full name with a suffix tacked onto the first name to indicate their birth order.

Any guesses on what the next set of Omega will be? 5 is obviously over. My guess is either 4 or 6. Both kind of have endgames that would fit the way that deltascape was setup.

Well the robot showed up I for GBA/PSP, TAY, V, XII and XIII-2. The more biological version shows up in VI for GBA, DIrge of Cerberus, VIII, X, and X-2. But given how little content we've seen from IV overall I think that's what they'd go for. I mean, I'd be hype for a Soken rendition of the Four Fiends' music at the very least.

Then again, the last wing will almost certainly have Omega proper as its final encounter, so whatever pattern there is would have to account for that.

Yo so re: Susano EX, what's the idea when the storm cloud is in front of him and someone gets tagged. Do you run to some gently caress off location and expect the group to move so the don't get blasted, or do you run to back of arena but don't move off alignment so the group moves as little as possible, but enough to not get shocked?

I think this goes from the theme of the skill to the actual class design - In WoW everything is designed to make you feel powerful. When you hit something you listen to the sound of smashing melons because that one skill is designed to be your ultimate power breaking the enemy apart. When you hit something with a blade in FFXIV you listen to a metallic clank as if the hit had been deflected. It's not even the satisfying clank of mining. Kalenn Istarion posted:This post reminds me, how did that game you were making turn out? I'm still working on it. Braid is a two-man job that took ~3 years to make and my FF7 LP took 4, so from the looks of it I'm gonna be working on my RPG for quite a while . I have a website planned but having to make money for a living sucks so it can be tiresome working on two things at the same time. I decided to split the game in chapters to make it more realistic for me to release it. Right now the combat engine is done, the scenario engine is done, 90% of the game design and mechanics are coded in and the game is playable already with complete save/load functionality, the story outline is done, the script for the first chapter is 60% done, the interface is ~20% done, in-game artwork is 5% done and music is 20% done. Luiza from ocremix is helping taking some of the weight off my shoulders by writing/recording some of the music. Here's a fairly recent concept art of one of the characters: And something I think I never posted anywhere, the main theme that Luiza and I wrote. https://soundcloud.com/silverbells-460274410/theme-of-kali/s-x8Brp Elentor fucked around with this message at 17:01 on Jul 24, 2017 |

SwissArmyDruid posted:* Minimal UI elements. I don't need the HP/MP/TP bars as large as they are, I just need three short little bars that could even be stacked up on top of eachother, thanks. And I don't need a pair of giant axes or horns to remind me what stance I'm in. Same goes for target HP bars. You can already do this. I think its CTRL-Home. Select a UI element and press it a few times. It will get bigger then roll over to small.

I feel like the Kenki gauge for SAM is a bit too cumbersome for what it does. I can reduce the size but that also reduces the font of the number that shows how much Kenki I have which is kind of important to be able to see. For now my solution is to hide the blade part of the Kenki gauge behind the Sen gauge so that just the hilt of the sword is visible.

Did Qarn and Cutter's Cry. Went fine, even with a mostly-new group in Qarn. Lasers got a little hectic on the last boss though. Cutter's Cry was kind of easy. Question earlier to someone who mentioned it. I didn't realize manually placing Eos did things. What does that do exactly? I did get tired of playing SCH and SMN for awhile, so I tried some other classes over the weekend, mostly to see class stories (my favorite content pre-30!) ARC was cool, and I appreciated how they actually got quite a few of their important abilities early on, especially having an AOE before 20. Cool story too. CNJ, I like healing, and I felt like their two damage spells were doing more than I did as ACN for some reason. Something tells me Sylphie is one of those "honest healers" that you guys talk about (I haven't seen one when I've not been playing a healer). PGL is a whole lot of fun, and I kind of want to keep going to 30. I don't feel like it's as complicated as it seems on paper, and I really liked the Greased Lightning mechanic from what I seen of it, and it makes me appreciate tanks who pull faster a bit more. I wanted to try GLD next, but I had to do other stuff, so probably next time I can try tanking.

Colgate posted:Question earlier to someone who mentioned it. I didn't realize manually placing Eos did things. What does that do exactly? Fairy healing has a range like everything else. Eos won't be able to heal your ranged dps if they stay stuck in the corner of the room. Most of the time its not much of an issue since your fairy will stick to you by default and their range of healing matches yours. But by placing Eos near, say, where the boss is sitting, Eos will be able to focus on Embracing the MT while you can run around healing the dumb ranged dps or rezzing someone who is too far away. I haven't gotten SCH passed level 60 yet but i'd imagine placing fairies will be useful for Fey Union.
