Anyone knows if there's show listings for Manowars farewell tour? I can only find some gigs in Sweden and Germany, I'll be bummed if they don't come by.

The previous one, Takasago Army, is really good too. Possibly even better.

I love that music video, especially the ending from about 4:10 onwards gets me in the feels.
(For context, the album is about Taiwanese volunteers in the Japanese military in WW2.)

I forgot how much the last Revocation album rips. I wish the production wasn't as bright sounding but god drat, the riffs and solos are so good. New drummer is a great fit.

That's a fascinating theme, I'll have to read up on that while listening sometime to get a better context.

ChthoniC's lead singer was elected to office in Taiwan last year or the year before. Such a good band and I love the how they work traditional instruments into their songs.

I do kinda miss the really crazy outfits they used to wear, I think they've gone with a more streamlined military look now which still looks cool as gently caress.

Anybody here getting down on the new Byzantine? I've always thought they were more than the sum of their parts. New one really amps up the progressive end of their sound. And the vocals are so diverse.

It's like one guitar is unplugged because you couldn't hear the harmonizing during the last part of the opening riff.

I really loved the first single from the album (New Ways to Bear Witness) and like the rest of it well enough but it mostly doesn't live up to that song. I'm a little disappointed.

Yeah it has it's moments and is pretty good up until the 7th track where it goes too far off the rails.

Finally listened to some fan mixes of the new Wintersun. Wow what an improvement with the vocals and drums turned down. This is actually enjoyable now.

Hopefully an actual professional will take a crack at mixing it but who could be bothered really?

Was it a new computer he was waiting on? I thought he was being stubborn about the label not building him a custom recording studio and he'd already bought his new MacBook.
