There isn't really a divide between "nature" and what humans do here, and now. Like, it is our nature to affect change through social attitudes. Humans are a social species. The things that are going on are happening through natural human channels. Humans cut down trees, other humans tell them to stop, other humans tell those humans to stop telling other humans not to cut down trees because it's "their nature" to cut down trees, other humans tell the humans telling the humans that tell other humans not to cut down trees that it's natural for people to tell other people not to cut down trees, etc.

The only truly unnatural human behavior, as Sigmund Freud once said, is setting the thermostat under 73 degrees, because that would obviously be too cold.

Correct, air conditioning is the triumph of the human spirit over nature. If you don't set the thermostat below 73 you're basically an ape.

Me [32f] with my husband [33M] of 12 years. He taught our son (4m) to "flip the bird" and won't correct it, and actually encourages it by laughing. I'm livid and don't know what to do.quote:Background: I picked my son up from pre-school yesterday and had a note in his sign in folder that i needed to see the admin. So i went in and apparently Jackson had been flipping all the girls off throughout the day. The school director was pretty upset because it had sort of set off a "flip off" war that the teachers couldn't stop. I had to sign an agreement that if Jackson flipped anyone off or engaged in gender based harassment he would kicked out of the school.

on the other hand the husband calling them "coddling fags" probably means that when the kid gets to be a teenager dad's going to talk about how it's not rape if the girl doesn't say no

I once broke up w/ a dude because I was out of town to do something important and he wouldn't stop loving calling me Woah actually I did that twice One of them was that my grandmother seemed to be dying and she wanted my help getting her estate in order. I was just so exhausted and it was like, sorry, my life is always going to suck this way and I am never going to stop having to take care of other people, I can't commit this much time to you when grandma got here first.

If she's giving women with children more priority in time off then men with children then that sorta is some clearcut discrimination but OP sounds like a weenie either way.

there was someone who sent in a whiny anonymous letter where i work about a women's event and how come there's no men's event huh, and the (male) top dog sent out a message to all employees that was basically "stop whining and get over yourself" with a subtle undercurrent of "i am a loving busy man and i am not happy i had to take time out of my day to respond to this, but i have decided to, and my conclusion is gently caress you dipshit"

It is common, and it is pretty anti-feminist.

Obviously the woman has the actual physical act of birth to recover from, but the dads definitely deserve more time with their newborn kids. Hell, we need mandatory vacation in America. We're literally the only first world country without it.
