And I've also noticed when I get tender spots near my pec minor after benching, it's only the motion of pulling my arm way behind me body that seems to bother it(although it's gotten a lot better lately with mobility work). I think I may start leaving a couple of inches of space myself.

Khorne posted:If your arm hits parallel to the ground you don't have to go any lower for tricep/chest stuff. Lol what? That would put the bar 8" off my chest and I'd be getting no stretch and hardly any range of motion in my pecs. You need to find a way to work the full range of motion without loving with your shoulders, typically with dumbbells and different hand angles, unless you have access to all sorts of crazy bars. Also do a lot more rowing to make your shoulders healthier. Once I bought a rower my shoulder issues coincidentally went away.

I didn't so much work out at the gym todat as much as i did a bit of arm work between foam rolling sessions. Holy poo poo getting back into the deadlift game after 2 months is harsh. Maybe i need some vitamin D

Watched a trainer put 135 on the bar for a client who could barely bench 95. He made the client do speed reps while hovering over the guy and pulling the bar up like it was some sort of partner row/bench hybrid.

I saw a guy the other day do drop barbell curls by cradling extra bars in his elbows while he curled, then dropping the bar and letting the new one roll down his forearms into his hands I wasn't sure whether to be dismayed or impressed

My favorite part about missing a few days from the gym is going back and sweating like a loving maniac the first day. Day 2 back normal levels of sweat. Day 1 I'm leaving a trail behind me from the last 3 days of being in stasis. (not a literal goon. I do have a towel with me, just saying.)

I didn't lift for about 4 weeks. No time in the gym at all. None of my lifts got weaker, really, except one rep of bench pressin' gone. It's back now tho Strength lasts a while, I dunno why you dudes lose it so fast

I was actually shocked I could still basically do the same lifts, particularly deadlifts I did the same weight, it just felt less "stable" Feels good to know you don't lose it all the moment you leave the gym

Did my usual this morning. Took a poo poo, lifted, took a shower, went to work. Lifting felt weird and I wasn't able to do the extra set I thought I was going to do. Two hours later, explosive diarrhea. Oooooooh, that's why. Never lift with poop inside you.
