its not a awful idea. kinda of an interesting one but making it so all the families still exist and have power is weird. idk. it just feels like those movies that take shakespeare plays and stick them in modern times with no changes.

It's so weird because the first half of season 2 is still pretty good, but then woops, we've got to rush the Antony/Cleopatra plot and timeskip ten years.

Only thing I'd say about any season 8 spoilers, is that even if they're legit, they might be wrong. Even peeps who are super high up involved with making the show can be given false scripts. Or ones close to what happens without being accurate.
