She can't ride it and it can't be trained like a normal horse, but she does have to stable it and care for it like a horse. Zebras are known to kill other animals out of spite/competitive nature. They don't just kick, they also bite like crazy. I would take the gift of a zebra as a threat.

Are zebras more resilient than horses? Could be a better long term 'investment' if so.

If I remember Guns, Germs and Steel, most big animals in Africa evolved with hominids as predators for millions of years, while outside of Africa they didn't have the experience to survive predation by a new apex predator capable of using tools. I'm not sure how horses and various cattle made it if that was true, but it explains what happened to most megafauna around the world. Bad with Evolution, not being adapted to survive predation by humans.

Jesus christ, this thread hates anything equine. I love it. In regards to the TGSR thread, I agree it's not relevant to this thread at all but if not I would have never seen it. Attempting to help another person out of a rut is not bad with money. I remember E/N had a guy who was homeless and at breaking point. Goons came together and supported him (her?), with advice, money, emotional support. He got a job at a museum in the end. It was the best $75 I've ever given even if the story was bullshit.

It was really difficult to find the right combination of menu options to even get to talk to an actual person in the first place, and then I would be put on hold for ages so that person could ring the relevant person in some other department to discuss the issue since customers aren't allowed to talk directly to the relevant people but have to pass everything through customer care.

Great news, Canada! You can now indirectly buy bitcoin in your RRSP and TFSA's! (Think 401K/Roth IRA for you yanks). It's on the Swedish stock exchange though so every trade has a 1% commission to buy. With a minimum charge of $195 bucks. Plus exchange fees and forex. Also to sell. You did it! e. That last one isn't really BWM, it's more 'logical conclusion of poor financial literacy combined with little regulatory oversight and gutted consumer protections in a deeply predatory monopolistic environment'. There's a big ongoing thread right now which is quite. It's a mix of mysterious possible fraud and terrifying stories of people's lives being turned upside down due to having the same name as someone else or other unfortunate errors: (US) I'm about to vomit. My checking account is overdrawn by ($500,977.00) quote:Good morning. I just got off of the phone with my bank and they're refusing to give me any information about my account because of a "FCC Confidential Hold". At first PF says it's most likely a hold put on his account by the bank at the request of one of the crime/fraud units to prevent any transactions (at least until someone later digs up an old thread by the OP about a really dodgy "non profit" organisation of theirs)" quote:Yes, a transaction to remove $500k from an account with $2k would almost never go through. However an employee of the bank or some govt entity trying to put a $500k hold on Charles Anderson Smiths account and accidentally putting it on Charles Andersen Smiths account is more likely. A lot of the thread is then horror stories of terrible things happening to people: quote:I have a very unusual name. Not something like Charles Smith at all. Every few months I get collection calls for things I don't owe. Strange things like cars I've never seen, credit cards I dont own, ect. quote:I have a fairly common first and last name, but they're not that common together if that makes sense. I had to go to the hospital about a decade ago for an emergency. Turns out someone with my exact name (including middle name), born the same year as me, was there the same day. We ended up receiving each other's bills. Hers was for much more than mine. It was a nightmare to sort out and took a couple of years, and it STILL comes back to haunt me occasionally. quote:I have had a similar experience, someone in my city with the same first and last name has warrants that have been attached to my license plate. Every few months I get pulled over and have to explain that we have different middle names and I am 30 years younger than the person on the warrant. quote:Even just mixups from people having the same first and las tname happen. quote:I'm no financial expert, but I wanted to chime in and give you my experience. quote:We just went through a "mixup" with the state tax board. They were demanding "unpaid sales tax" and swept our account of about $25,000. Too bad what they identified as product sales was actually service income, and had no product sales tax applied. They reveresed everything, but there were still fees paid to wells fargo, and of course any bounced checks or overdrafts had to be juggled. The worst part was they did that literally 14 days before the event- aka the week we pay for everything like caterers and venue! quote:I live in Florida and recently went through hurricane Irma. I had ACH payments rejected for my power and water company due to insufficient funds - I still receive a paper paycheck and wasn't able to deposit it in time. I didn't even know until my water was shut off - THREE DAYS after the due date on the bill. $80 reconnection fee. The utility company is now refusing to accept bank payments (check or ACH) from me for a calendar year - I've got to pay in cash in person at their office. So if that's what you go through after a hurricane, I would expect similar or harsher treatment if your accounts were frozen. Fortunately I keep "emergency cash" on hand. There's a lot of stories like that in the thread then someone digs up a 4 month old deleted thread by the OP which makes things sound more suspicious. The post is deleted, but the title and the OP's comments are just baffling My nonprofit's executive board seized my bank account registered in my name. [OH] redditor posted:Then go to the executive board and have the bat-poo poo person removed from office. redditor posted:I'm flummoxed about how they got a 501(c)X myself OP posted:Anyone can do it, why pay a lawyer when it's only $99 on the secretary of state's website. OP posted:I was hoping I'd not have to get an attorney for the organization.. OP posted:We do not have any by-laws at the moment. It's a business account under my EIN. All of their positions are pro-temp. quote:EIN is not yours, it's the organization's. I'm not going to keep quoting everything, but just read this comment thread of people trying so hard to explain to the OP that just because they opened the account (for whatever mystery organisation it is) doesn't mean they own the account
