sort of. cunningham was in the dem primary but is running on the Reform line for the general, and he's been endorsed by WFP. that line will be blank in the general because they didn't endorse him in the primary and it's too late to get him on the ballot now

typically, the WFP doesn't fusion ballot with candidates outside the Democratic Party, so it looks like they're officially sitting out in the 35th district

I have realized that I misspelled his name when writing it on the ballot. It's unfortunate, but it seems like New York voting guidelines say that as long as it's clear who you mean, small spelling mistakes are ignored. Still good to spell it correctly, but I don't think it's the end of the world if you messed up like I did.

how come i've heard nothing in media outlets about the races in Districts 32 and 48? 32 is currently the only district outside of Staten Island repped by a republican, and that guy (ulrich) is in a heated race against a hip-hop artist turned lawyer

48 is my upset special. i think Deutsch is gonna lose to Saperstein, the republican. deutsch only won by 15 points four years ago and his district has only grown more red since then. he'll probably get the hasidic vote in Midwood but i think the russian vote in Brighton and Sheepshead will go to saperstein. he's no moderate either, his remarks hint at being completely cool with the right wing fringe of the GOP

32's my home district, and it's one of the true swing districts in the city; it's an odd duck of a district, with chunks of ethnically-diverse Richmond Hill and Ozone Park/SOP mixed in with Howard Beach and its satellites. We sort-of go back and forth between both parties, and while Ulrich is a bit of a weaselly turd, he's not TERRIBLE in the sense that a lot of other NYC-based GOP people like Milliotakis are because he knows it's a true swing seat. For instance, Joe Addabbo, who was our Democratic Council Member before Ulrich got the seat and is now our State Senator, was against the first gay marriage bill, but then for the one that actually passed, he was one of the crucial votes that switched because the few years and a bit of activism really made a difference in terms of the political calculus.

I don't see Ulrich losing, though, despite my wishing it were so.

thanks for the insight, i don't know that area very well. and if saperstein wins there's a chance he'll be all kinds of awful, since the 48th has gone real red real fast. it used to real easy to find anti-obama graffiti there. my personal favorite was the one on the pedestrian overpass from the subway stop that said "Putin Kicks Obama's human being rear end"

Cuomo is a vindictive piece of poo poo and the only thing good about him running for President would be to have him out out out of here.

But he'll never want to be President, too many checks and balances at the Federal level.

I don't know who Ben Walsh is, but I know the Upstate Jobs party is a dumb third party whose platform is a hodgepodge of standard libertarian and republican "free market capitalism" bullshit, with no real policy positions on anything except economics and maybe immigration. The party has existed less than 2 years and was founded by some dork who made a bunch of money in the tech sector years ago. He ran in the NY 22nd congressional race last year and got like 10 percent of the vote.

Cuomo is a spineless shill who can, if nothing else, smell which way the wind blows. I guarantee that if legalization would boost his numbers he'd sign off.
