It literally has to be a "I can't comment on this at all" type of thing. I would not be surprised if banks treated subpoenas similarly because it would simplify policy promulgation.

BigDave posted:Yeah, he was UDT during Vietnam, but they were a separate animal from SEALs. They didn't receive nearly the same level of land warfare training and were confined to brown water ops for the most part. They'd get out of the water to go demo something but had a much more limited op library. Indictment and harassment was always done close to water where as the SEALs began operating further and further away from it in DA settings. Not to get all George Lucas it rhymes and poo poo but the SEALS specifically and the special forces communities experience in vietnam as a whole is a really interesting lens to view Iraq and afghanistan through. You have the increased operational tempo causing staffing and personnel issues, lack of training/rushed training, you have mission and capability creep, you have direct action units having to handle and civilian populace that ranges from friendly to outright hostile while dealing with an insurgency that can melt into the surroundings and people. If I was still in school I'd write a paper on it, I actually drafted something for a defense policy class I was in but ended up scrapping it and going wth a different (easier) topic.

Iirc she beat Domina, who seems like a cool guy if a little old and doofy.

Also important to note is that Ventura never served in combat. He was on some late night show one time and launched, unprompted or more accurately completely off topic, into some story about his team vandalizing a water tower in which he made it sound like he was a SEAL.

I'll keep that in mind, might need a paper idea next semester. As much as I kinda like Ventura, I hate how he always played up that whole SEAL/UDT angle, made it sound like he was a snake eater in the bush killing VC bare handed. quote:"And I'll just tell you this: Until you've hunted man, you haven't hunted yet," Ventura told Anderson. "Because you need to hunt something that can shoot back at you to really classify yourself as a hunter. You need to understand the feeling of what it's like to go into the field and know your opposition can take you out. Not just go out there and shoot Bambi." http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=93626&page=1

Ventura is a slightly less unhinged proto-Trump. He tried to act like a tough guy at all times, he said stupid poo poo to rile up the rubes, and he didn't accomplish much. He got the light rail project started but that's about it.
