I kind of wish they hadn’t won that game last year, because surely two winless seasons in a row could never be beaten? Guess we’ll have to wait for next year.

Browns currently have the #1 and #4 picks in the first round. - I believe they are 100% for the #1 pick regardless of what they do in the last two games due to strength of schedule. Not worth worrying about anyway. - Giants at 2-12 are guaranteed a top 7 pick if they win out, but are picking either #2 or #3 overall if they lose or go 1-1. - Colts at 3-11 will pick a #3 if the Giants win one game, and #2 if the Giants win two, and if the Colts lose out. If the Colts win one game, they could drop to #4 (swap with the Texans), and since they play the Texans week 17 it's possible they win that one. If the Colts win out they could drop all the way to the #10 range, depending on what other teams below them do. - Texans at 4-10 currently hold the #4 spot, but the pick belongs to Cleveland. If the Texans lose out, including a week 17 loss to the Colts, they could end up at #3 overall due to SOS. Based on current SOS, if the Texans win one game, they could drop all the way to around #10, and if they win out they could be as low as #14 overall, but there is still a lot of volatility among the middle of the pack teams. -- If by some miracle, the Giants win out, the Colts win out (or possibly go 1-1 if end of season SOS puts them behind the Texans), and the Texans lose out, Cleveland is getting the #1 and #2 overall picks. -- If Cleveland loses out, Giants lose out, Colts go 1-1 (beating the Texans), and the Texans lose out, Cleveland has #1 and #3. I gotta believe!!!

I also hope the Browns continue to lose until a change in management. At this point who gives a gently caress. Also I hope we draft 1 and 3. It’s probably going to be a QB who will have his future destroyed at 1 and I hope 3 is a female kicker I heard was in the college system somewhere. Like Dawson she will be responsible for all the offense points. Edit: as long as we are poo poo can we draft a hot football player wife at 3? I mean at least she can be like a Princess of England or something that gives an aura of glamour and be in the news all the time to distract from the pain. Semi-serious question, what do you even do with two picks at 1 and 3 or 4? I feel like the right thing to do is trade away that 1st for at least a couple of proven NFL players. The Browns are definitely not good at drafting. God I can't imagine being a Browns fan and watching your team draft yet another QB in the first round.

I genuinely don’t know what you do if you’re a GM because now if you draft anything less than two superstars you’re out the door

Assuming they end up with 1 and 3, and have 3 QBs ranked equally (seems like a good year for QBs), then they could pick at either spot and auction off the other pick to whoever wants to get in front of the Giants if they move the #1. Unless they sign Alex Smith or Kirk Cousins, they have to pick a QB with one of those picks, and even then I'd probably still draft one.

The Browns always take the best [insert non-quarterback here] early then draft a quarterback at pick 22 or lower.

Pick the best (wrong) Quarterback at 1, pick a WR at 3. They are both hurt by mid-August.
|
# ? Dec 19, 2017 14:52 |
Pick the best QB at 1, pick the second (or third) best QB at 3 and hope one of the two works out. If you find your franchise QB everything else will sort itself out over the next years. This bold approach will be lauded by the media who is QB obsessed anyway and prevent you from getting fired because traded away the pick with which the next great franchise QB got drafted.

That's probably not a terrible idea, since whichever guy you end up not starting will still have a 1st round grade and could potentially be traded for a 1st round pick or other relevant value. I mean when the competition is Kizer, Kessler and Hogan, getting two top rookie QBs to fight each other for the start could be interesting. Of course, after the first bad game (week 1) they'd be pressured to start the other guy, so maybe not a great idea after all.
