Yeah. Also I think people forget that contemporaries who supported Stalin or the Japanese Empire didn't have the near century of hindsight we do.

Imagine you wake up one day in 1905 after living your whole life under the thumb of white supremacy, then you read the news and see that one of the most powerful modern fleets created by a white empire just got destroyed by a race of inscrutable yellow Asiatics. How could you not love them?

Antwan3K posted:Ok but WEB Dubois was not some average person was he. There wasn't any "good" side, it was a pure imperial contest to see who would get the sway of influence over Manchuria and rights to Port Arthur. You could get invested in it if you thought of it as a race war though, which is the way a lot of Europeans and settler-colonialists interpreted it. So if you're the colonial subject of a racist settler state, it's impossible not to identify with the non-white power.

The trusts can manufacture iron or other industrial things on a big scale, but when it comes to the manufacture of food, there commercial methods fail. As far as i have heard, they have commercialized literature and art, resturaunts and homes. A man has to eat what the trust gives and has to be content with a home that another trust furnishes.
