jerry should use the last ounces of his power to unilaterally appoint eastin and then vanish into a cloud of california wildfire smoke, only to drift off into the delta, which he saved.

Daddy needs his quickpicks: 1) Top priority: Bernie approved candidates 2) Second priority: DSA state wide consensus candidates 3) ugh priority: Your local DSA chapters candidates (that caused at least 5 people to leave that chapter)

My chapter also endorsed Jovanka Beckles for state assembly and she is also on that list. Voters Edge is super helpful, it will show you candidates with their positions, endorsements, who donated, all that good stuff. You can also click the organization endorsements and see who else on the ballot they support. Example: https://votersedge.org/en/ca/ballot/election/area/69/contests/contest/16570/candidate/137783?id=statewide-69-ca

... That's a lot of voters that potentially get fed up and turn around. I just saw one do that myself. Is that number big enough to swing elections? Is this the sort of error that could be caused maliciously / selectively by tampering?

Thats an exceptionally large number of insta-disenfranchised voters, but I would err with LA county on the side of incompetence. They did this last time and I never got my mail by ballot (surprisingly it came this time). Beyond hosed up and I'm not taking this lightly.

# ? Jun 6, 2018 01:52 |

The statement says that only 1000something polling places of the 4000something in the county were affected. If that's actually true I would bet money that you could put the affected locations on top of a map of the racial or other SES distribution of the county and a pattern would immediately pop out.

There's also no reason to have faith a provisional ballot would be counted given our states history of tossing them out on flimsy handwriting analysis done by complete amateurs.

Maybe I'm just super cynical, but I live in a pretty skewed (Red) district and I can totally see the poll workers (as great as they try to be) having an even unconcious bias in terms of letting folks know about the fact that there's a problem and provisional balloting... or simply not letting them know, based on how they look or who they are.

It's really heartwarming and makes me think positive things. tl;dr kudos from th etrash capital of the world

Leftists really, really need well researched and carefully made local voter guides to overcome our fractured nature and poor PR. I hope they catch on. I also hope for social media sub communities in the future that are better broken down geographically into neighborhoods and districts automatically, so that people have more of a chance of being shared videos about their local candidates. By the way, I've been wondering, how goes a "printing error" that affects over 100k people in an important election go magically undetected and unreported until the middle of election day itself?
