it doesn't help that giant glass gently caress-off condos have really taken off there and not even the old money types can be bothered to afford them, or at least not enough of them to actually occupy them for more than two months a year

speaking of which, my ex in China wants to make enough money so she can get a down payment for a million dollar-plus apartment mostly to invest in. for the first time in my life i'm glad things didn't work out between us

Cuomo made it an automatic felony if someone assaults an MTA worker so maybe that's why?

1) lol it was way more than three. We’re talking dozens.

2) It happened on multiple occasions and kept getting worse, and not just Joke emails but just flat out racist tirades about how he wants Michelle Obama to admit she’s a man and move into a cave in Africa with his gorilla boyfriend.

3) and honestly, the racist emails are unremarkable in the modern Republican Party. Let’s also remember that he got caught forwarding Horse Porn.

It's because Stand United currently has an iron grip on the union leadership, and they've decided that the best way to get good contracts is to kiss as much rear end as possible. It's infuriating and really dangerous for the union long term. But there isn't any credible opposition. Progressive Action exists but hasn't performed well outside of a few small divisions.

I'm good friends with an NYPD cop he absolutely loving hated DiBlasio with a passion (he's a die hard republican) and admitted that DiBlasio gave the cops an awesome contract and he actually voted for him the second time

I remember when he said that and the local news interviewed MTA customers and literally every single one was like "uh, yeah I'd rather we not kill kittens if all it means is I'm gonna be an hour later to work, is this a serious loving question?". It was like fifteen people they asked. I wish I had it on tape.

the dreams of the delighting void

I take the A train and the D train every day to get to work. I would vote my nuts off for any person who promised to ensure that the AC worked at least 80% of the time in every subway car. A few stops in one of those hot boxes with a broken AC has even the freshest bourgeois daisy smelling like the scrotum depths of the worker bee. Us worker bees, in turn, end up smelling like the scrotum of a corpse.

Also, I was reading an article about the stepped up police presence in subway stations geared toward directing the homeless who sleep there in the direction of social services. Some drone for the Blahs administration was all on his shitlib soapbox about how this was not a crack down because "being homeless is not a crime" well I say gently caress that, it absolutely should be a crime for the government to allow such rampant deprivation.

De Blasio is so unpopular, he can't even give away campaign money

quote:

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio wants to help his fellow Democrats take back the New York Senate. To close the gap, he’s launched a federal leadership political action committee, and he wants to raise money to spend in competitive races around the state.

There’s just one problem. Almost nobody wants his help.

A majority of the 15 Democratic state Senate candidates running in competitive districts who POLITICO surveyed said they wouldn’t accept the mayor’s aid even if offered. The would-be senators are distancing themselves from the unpopular mayor, who faces criticism from upstate for being a tax-and-spend liberal and complaints from some in New York City that he’s not liberal enough and has been too friendly with developers. It doesn’t help that the last time de Blasio got involved in helping candidates, it led to an investigation into his fundraising practices.

Lol, the head of the NY police union was against reinstituting speed cameras in school zones, b/c it would deprive potential jobs for police officers.

Landlord goes on hunger strike over new homeless shelter

quote:

Mayor de Blasio’s homeless policies are so hard to swallow for a Queens landlord that he’s gone on a hunger strike.

Saverio “Sam” Esposito, 53, said he stopped eating Monday in protest of Hizzoner’s plan to establish a homeless shelter for 113 mentally ill men in his neighborhood by winter.

“I’m going to keep this up till they carry me away by ambulance,” or the mayor agrees to a sitdown, the retired cop vowed.
