I'm looking for some stuff that's musically like Meshuggah or All That Remains but has more ...normal singing, for lack of a better term. I don't care for the screaming/whatever you want to call it that's super guttural.

Well, they certainly have less screaming, but it's still there. I otherwise quite like TesseracT especially.

Definitely not clean vocals, at least not their War Master album.

To be honest it's a pretty extreme style of metal you're looking at, most of it is gonna have screaming.

You might get some mileage out of Augury if that woman who does clean vocals for them is still in the band.

The only Tesseract album that sticks with me is that one from a couple of years ago with that vocalist that had to leave shortly after when the original vocalist returned to the band. gently caress that guy, they never play songs from that album neither since his return.

I don't know poo poo about Meshuggah other than that I've heard their discography and it's good but if you're looking for more like All That Remains you'll want to just check out more melodic metalcore bands like Killswitch Engage, Protest the Hero, Shadows Fall and As I Lay Dying. If you can try to stomach more harsh vocals then you could get into melodic death metal which is what all of those bands are pretty heavily inspired by.

Because what they want probably doesn't exist so people are trying to find a good second option.

Nazzadan
Jun 22, 2016

Because he asked for melodic metalcore so I gave him that then took it one step further and gave him the genre that inspired the genre he asked for. If he doesn't want rah rah vocals then I guess he could just listen to power metal and trad I mean that rules too.

His second Breitenhold album The Inn of Sorrowing Souls is pretty great oldschool BG worship. But yeah I wouldn't mind if he made more of that stuff.
