some people have more room in the acromial cave or whatever the gently caress that part is called so their rotator cuff doesn't grind against poo poo. i don't bother with upright rows though because i bench and ohp plenty enough for my front delts

Mike Israetel recommends upright rows for side delts (as long as it doesn't hurt).

Oh wait, those are more side delts aren't they? I think I confused them with front raises. I've just been doing lateral raises and one arm Z presses(and whatever amount regular barbell OHP hits them). There's also a lateral raise machine thing at the gym but I haven't even bothered with trying it yet.

dumbell bench supremacy i only use normal bench press for closed grip tricep presses now.

Also plate loaded or pin-selected pullover machines rule, but I only ever had one in my huge campus rec gym.

Yeah, it's like that one for the most part. I usually lateral raise like 3 times a week, I'll replace one day with the machine and see how it feels. edit: vv apparently it's too hard to judge, but whatever. I say do it anyway vv Drunk Driver Dad fucked around with this message at 01:08 on Sep 18, 2018 |

it is my firm belief that OHP should be included in powerlifting as an event

USSF does overhead instead of bench. They don't have judge commands either you have to get the lift right on your own. They also do weigh outs after your last deadlift and no sumo.

I've added 30 pounds to my OHP by including it in my 5/3/1 cycle along with bench, squat and deads, all of which are cool and good lifts. Thanks again to the thread for suggesting the 5/3/1 to me.

I did squats again finally. No knee pain, so I'm hoping I'm good to go now. And if anyone is curious about deadlift to squat carryover I was able to do 225x3 for a few sets, probably could have went heavier or did a few more reps but I didn't want to push it. So there definitely was some carryover because I'd say ~185-195 felt about like the same intensity around the time I stopped squatting.

It was first opened in 1969 by a Venice beach Body Builder and then sold to Horace J. McKenna in 1976 who... http://articles.latimes.com/2000/oct/29/local/me-43962 It changed hands a few times after that but the guy who owns the building now has been working out there for nearly 30 years. My coach Jason was a competing powerlifter that held a World Record in the deadlift of 716 lbs. at 220 lb. body weight (WPL or something). He really does some amazing work with the women clients too and there is actually a good mix of men vs some pretty strong rear end women that actually compete.
