Paying with plex takes several hours per month per account. An hour or two of irl pay is a lot more time efficient.

It would be cheating to buy isk for real money. What would even be the point? If I wanted to do that I could just play X3 and put in a money cheat code for free. If you're spending real money to play EVE you are doing it wrong.

Or, you know, you have disposable income and like being able to put everything you make towards something instead of working on a debit. Thanks to the GMG nonsense I've got all my accounts staggered so they'll all cycle, so it'll be $14.95/month to keep three accounts in Omega. One on, two off - for three months, at least. I don't have to do anything with Kayl until mid-April.

It’s almost as if everyone values their time differently Personally I pay with irl money because I make a month sub in a very short amount of time so grinding for 5 hours a month to pay my plex costs doesn’t make sense for me Plus my play time is currently super limited due to a 7 week old baby so I’d rather shoot dudes and do dumb stuff THAT BEING SAID finding a passive or semi passive wealth generator like blazing or PI or manufacturing is something I’m working towards (so I can finance more accounts ![]()

The best way to make isk as a new player is to follow behind someone in a Noctis that is super ratting. It's a quick train, and you should average around 100m an hour. I know of a guy in KF that fields three supers simultaneously, generating 20+ sites for salvage an hour. I've seen teams of new players try and keep up and they just can't.

I have no idea. The concentration and motor skills needed would be way beyond anything I can do, and I say this as a 10 account covetor miner. Edit: Like I've heard him give people on comms instructions to tell other people that were in the clean up crew something because he can't type messages while it's happening. What if your hourly rate far exceeds the amount of isk you could generate in an hour? I've always looked at ISK acquisition as a means to engage in the gameplay I enjoy, and not the other way around.

You guys need to calculate how much isk you make using the fun per hour ratio or it's not valid

Xolve posted:What if your hourly rate far exceeds the amount of isk you could generate in an hour? My hourly rate is positive, because the gameplay I enjoy is making more ISK in any way possible. I like to play around with and learn about other aspects of the game because it helps me know what people are buying, but in the end it's all about ISK! ![]() I like it so much have been trying my hand at real world pattern day trading. There are lots of services out there that let you trade stocks and commodities with fake money (to see if you would do well). Its kind of similar to EVE trading, except the market volume tends to be a lot higher. Also stuff can crash in value, where EVE commodities tend to be a lot safer with a price ceiling.

The people who don't have a super are either too new, or like me, too lazy to get one. Question for Asher and other FC's. If everyone could fly and owned a super, would you guys still bother pinging for subcaps?

Also, no one's giving them money anymore.

I mean, there was that keepstar in Vale of the Silent that got killed by INITdot (and us but they were clearly the stars of the show) with just subcaps, despite a massive supercap ball fielded by hostiles. The funny thing about that was the tactic that INITdot used was something NCdot had figured out how to counter back in, like, 2017, but they couldn't swing it this time for some reason.

NCdot isn't set up well for EVE2k2x for the past decade conflict has been between skill and size alliances skill used player skill/high xp eveguys to defeat size size used size to defeat skill but with injectors, old player loss, rorqs, and ECs size now beats skill, especially since there is established FC talent in most major guilds if skill groups could've retained players they would be on top, but they're having issues with this, so it's not going great for them, and it will only go downhill

How much "skill" – in terms of player knowledge or ability – is there to flying say a Ferox or Megathron in a fleet?
