Also Maisel s2 is out in the UK and I assume everything east of that. My friend said it’s not up in the US yet but worth checking I suppose, it’s still not even Wednesday yet here. The premiere is great.

Yeah I would definitely read the books before watching the show, but I think the show does them justice and is excellent in its own right. Although I kind of want to hear what someone who watches first then reads would think, just because of how different the experience is in the book due to Elena's pov.

On one hand part of me thinks Tom Cruise is trying to trick me in some kind of Scientology scam because of the weirdness of that PSA. On the other hand I spent like 3 days thinking I was having some kind of stroke when I upgraded my TV so maybe its a good cause that can unify us.

So basically we can blame sports for motion smoothing. Football in 4K with smoothing looks great at the store so that's all that matters to the TV companies.

The funny thing is that's why it took me the better part of a week to be sure there was something wrong with the TV and not with me. Because most of my viewing on that TV was sports and news and that all looked fine. But then I'd catch a show and everyone would be moving all weird and something looked off and I thought I was having some kind of fit. Then I turned on a game and its fine again.

Currently 3 episodes into the new season of Mrs Maisel; still love it, some stray thoughts: 1. I really hate watching Midge bomb, it makes me cringe so much 2. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the cartoonishness of their reality seems to have been ramped up. I don't remember the first season being so absurd other than everyone talking unrealistically fast and sharp, whereas in this season a number of elements feel like caricature, and then we get subplots like Joel finds a treasure map Again, still great though. Just give me the usual fast-paced banter and I'm good.
