The substitute teacher pushed back, telling district officials she told the student, “Why if it was so bad here, he did not go to another place to live.”

“They brought me here,” the boy reportedly replied.

“Well you can always go back, because I came here from Cuba and the day I feel I’m not welcome here anymore I would find another place to live,” the teacher then reportedly answered, before calling in other school officials to deal with the student.

Things escalated when the boy allegedly refused to follow school officials’ orders, called them racists, threatened to beat the teacher and get the school officials fired, according to the arrest affidavit.

That escalated quickly. The problem is the violent threats I'm sure, but the substitute should really have known better.

Not sure about there, but around here you only need a bachelor's degree to substitute teach. You get like... a thirty page packet of guidelines that boils down to 'don't hit the kids and follow the absent teacher's instructions'. That's it. No class, no interview. I'm not condoning what the sub did, but I'm not surprised that they were unprepared.

Yeah, we had a sub banned in my HS for the same thing. Our homeroom teacher was pretty much 'do whatever during the pledge it's not up to me, just be quite and non-disruptive' and one day we got an over the top ex-solider something in his 60s sub that blew up at half the class that stayed sitting. Yelled for all of us to get up and respect the flag, everyone did except one kid and the teacher got physical with the kid and dragged him to the principles office.

Then the sub had to come back and appologize to the class.

e: He wrote of bunch of right-wring screed op-ed in the local paper for a while after that.

It's weird though right, she fled a "dictatorial regime" which "didn't tolerate dissent" came to the US and immediately tried to enforce a dictatorial regime which doesn't tolerate dissent, except apparently this tyranny is the good one. It blows my mind how often the victims of persecution seem to come to the conclusion that it's not so much persecution that's bad as making sure you're the one doing the persecuting.

Maybe, if the case goes up through the system to that point but I assure you there are plenty of schools throughout the country where all the kids without a note from their parents are disciplined for not standing and reciting it. The religious exemption thing for Jehovah's Witnesses and whatnot is pretty well established but 'don't feel like it' will cause problems in a lot of places.

Especially like this with a substitute - there isn't much of a vetting process for subs, it's entirely possible she legit had no idea (not suggesting that makes any of this OK)

Pity we can’t be putting the poofters back in the closet instead.

While I find it reasonable that Antichrist will be the leader of the Muslim caliphate many Muslims await I realize that in the West the Romans 1:18-32 -esque (if not literal) support for all things perverted, sexually confused and even deranged in some circles would prevent many from worshipping some Muslim Beast ... unless said Beast uses the doctrine of abrogation already in place in Islam to give a new homophile doctrine that maybe even advances it as preferred (as some few extra zany and thankfully not at all mainstream Imams seem to suggest for sheep and goat ... relationships). With such a change the Christ hating West could believably stream into the Mosques to take whatever mark they offer, just so long as they can take their precious poofters with them.

And, yes, I’m working into the above the presently somewhat unfashionable view (once more common) that the AC will be a homosexual.
