What percentage of a MCH’s damage does wildfire end up being usually?

I loving hate wildfire so I don't use it in the "correct way" I just slam it whenever but it's something like 5% or so IIRC; not enough to really matter but enough you shouldn't totally ignore it. I could give a gently caress about optimizing this poo poo heap of a rotation or whatever the hell I'm just here to glam as slutty mustadio. Maybe it'll be good for ShB.

Yoship, let me glam a gun onto a bow, use MCH's animations, and keep bard's gameplay. MCH is very cool, but unfun. Bard is lame, but fun. Give me the best of both worlds Yoship.

I realized I did not have a free company room.
I went kinda weird with this one.

(also i checked some of my parses from today across training dummies and failed o11s runs, my wildfires are ranging around 6-7% of my dps, so that tracks with what everyone else is reporting)

Remove the controller, shut down your computer, restart, then plug it back in?

You could also remove it, delete the drivers, and reinstall from the controller. I think. Probably.

Yeah, XIV is weirdly sensitive about controllers sometimes but mostly whenever it's happened for me a reboot has solved it.

This game has so many neat little stories/characters. Most job/profession quest chains have their own distinct casts and satisfying little plot arcs, and all of it adds up to really fleshing out the setting. I just started the Stormblood gathering quests, and it's neat that they're centered In Idyllshire; unlike WoW the rest of the world actually stays relevant.

And then those side characters randomly show up in other quests as well. Like all the randos in Mogmail and in the current Little Ladies Day.

I'm literally leveling a character up right now because MCH looks cool as hell and I love the concept

Are there any actual ideas on what might be changing for it?

I remember hearing during one of the fan fests in the past year that they have more written out but just haven't gotten around to actually implementing the stories into gameplay yet. I hope it happens sooner than later though, I loved the mogmail quests and really want more!

Why is everyone certain DRK is getting a rework? The 3 jobs Yoship named as getting changed were WHM, MNK and MCH. DRK doesn't even have to think about TP like the other tanks do, since its aoes run on MP. Is it just because it's the cover job?

they are likely a mess to anyone except me

1-5 for combos
shift 1-5 for buffs and defensives (and bloodspiller because i hated hitting 6)
ctrl 1-4 for stuff i use semi frequently but not stuff i need to use constantly

i try to keep my QERF stuff sorta consistent across classes
Q is a major defining feature of the class (drk dark arts, mch wildfire, etc), E is usually an important self buff, R is where i stick some kind of enemy debuff i need to hit on reaction, F is ranged attacks. shift and ctrl variations build on that if i can

M3 is AoE poo poo (same with shift), M5 is where i put stuff i hit often that doesn’t really slot in a combo

if you have any questions about the class seriously feel free to hit me up on discord it is literally the class i play most and frequently outdamage pubbie dps, i like to think i know what i’m talking about outside of savage raiding (and even then i’ve done a little savage raiding with it i’m just bad with optimizing openers)

edit: oh yeah the buttons on top right are clickables for “stuff that comes up kinda rarely”

I definitely keep LB on a hot bar off to the side with my teleport/return and mounts and click it. And I'm the melee that usually LBs for my static so I do use it a lot, doesn't trip me up having it unbound.

So basically they're ancient Kindles/iPads that we're gathering and selling to people in giant stacks? Just handing over like 200 iPads for a new weapon.

Aetheryte Earrings scale up to ilvl 290 and give up to +95 Main Attribute and +104 Secondary Attribute. So just a bit worse than drops from dungeons at the end of Stormblood (though the +30% is 70 and below, so they'll still be the speedy way to 71 in Shadowbringers). Main and Secondary are: Tanks - Vitality and Tenacity, Healers - Mind and Piety, DPS - Strength, Dexterity, or Intelligence as relevant and Direct Hit. Scaling is such that it's basically as much as something normal quality on level would give you (like level 54 would be +25/+27).

It's not that overwhelming, to be fair. There's several DRK mains (and I'm also using it as my secondary job). Maybe I'm Doing It Wrong, but it doesn't feel much worse than any other tank, just with a button you press every two or three GCDs

Honestly as long as you aren't completely wasting wildfires or overheating accidentally you're probably fine? You'll be well below top DPS potential considering how absurdly high the skill ceiling is, but you'll still be more than competitive with whatever randos you're teamed with. The game's pretty good about keeping basic competency levels for DPS pretty balanced.

Ehh, xaph posted earlier wildfire is 6% of his dps, and I can vouch for xaph being pretty good at the game, despite playing at 250 ping.

Sure, 6% is a good chunk of dps for a skill that only comes up once per minute, but also if you somehow completely waste every single one, you'll only be 6% below where you need to be, which isn't a terribly big deal when learning things and it'll only get better as you get more comfortable with fights.
