What percentage of a MCH’s damage does wildfire end up being usually?

Captain Cappy posted:What percentage of a MCH’s damage does wildfire end up being usually? I loving hate wildfire so I don't use it in the "correct way" I just slam it whenever but it's something like 5% or so IIRC; not enough to really matter but enough you shouldn't totally ignore it. I could give a gently caress about optimizing this poo poo heap of a rotation or whatever the hell I'm just here to glam as slutty mustadio. Maybe it'll be good for ShB.

I checked my best Seiryu ex parse, Wildfire was 6% of my dps.

Yoship, let me glam a gun onto a bow, use MCH's animations, and keep bard's gameplay. MCH is very cool, but unfun. Bard is lame, but fun. Give me the best of both worlds Yoship. I realized I did not have a free company room. I went kinda weird with this one. It's in the PBC house, Excal Goblet Ward 1 Plot 13, room #5 https://imgur.com/a/QmloOVd

this is a mch thread now, sorry, no hating (also i checked some of my parses from today across training dummies and failed o11s runs, my wildfires are ranging around 6-7% of my dps, so that tracks with what everyone else is reporting)

It's me, I'm the brokebrain who loves current MCH gameplay and finds that BRD gameplay at high levels just gives me a loving headache.

BRD is at least cool and flashy though.

This game has so many neat little stories/characters. Most job/profession quest chains have their own distinct casts and satisfying little plot arcs, and all of it adds up to really fleshing out the setting. I just started the Stormblood gathering quests, and it's neat that they're centered In Idyllshire; unlike WoW the rest of the world actually stays relevant.

I'd play MCH more if using up the last ammo cuased a M1 Garand-style "ping!" sound.

I'm literally leveling a character up right now because MCH looks cool as hell and I love the concept Are there any actual ideas on what might be changing for it?

The DoH/DoL quests in HW and SB were surprisingly good.

I remember hearing during one of the fan fests in the past year that they have more written out but just haven't gotten around to actually implementing the stories into gameplay yet. I hope it happens sooner than later though, I loved the mogmail quests and really want more!

The 3 jobs Yoship named as getting changed were WHM, MNK and MCH. DRK doesn't even have to think about TP like the other tanks do, since its aoes run on MP. Is it just because it's the cover job?

they've been saying drk needs a rework but they can't do anything until the expansion since like, 4.1

I definitely keep LB on a hot bar off to the side with my teleport/return and mounts and click it. And I'm the melee that usually LBs for my static so I do use it a lot, doesn't trip me up having it unbound.

Just to clarify something: what exactly is a tomestone? I vaguely recall recall from the Omega storyline that they're magic rocks that you can read books from? So basically they're ancient Kindles/iPads that we're gathering and selling to people in giant stacks? Just handing over like 200 iPads for a new weapon.

Despite their tiny size, each one's said to contain a library's worth o' knowledge o' the past." Aetheryte Earrings scale up to ilvl 290 and give up to +95 Main Attribute and +104 Secondary Attribute. So just a bit worse than drops from dungeons at the end of Stormblood (though the +30% is 70 and below, so they'll still be the speedy way to 71 in Shadowbringers). Main and Secondary are: Tanks - Vitality and Tenacity, Healers - Mind and Piety, DPS - Strength, Dexterity, or Intelligence as relevant and Direct Hit. Scaling is such that it's basically as much as something normal quality on level would give you (like level 54 would be +25/+27).

There's several DRK mains (and I'm also using it as my secondary job). Maybe I'm Doing It Wrong, but it doesn't feel much worse than any other tank, just with a button you press every two or three GCDs

Ehh, xaph posted earlier wildfire is 6% of his dps, and I can vouch for xaph being pretty good at the game, despite playing at 250 ping. Sure, 6% is a good chunk of dps for a skill that only comes up once per minute, but also if you somehow completely waste every single one, you'll only be 6% below where you need to be, which isn't a terribly big deal when learning things and it'll only get better as you get more comfortable with fights.
