datajugend posted:but gendry was there and said aye to bran? I'll be damned, he was there sitting next to Sir Davos. I'll blame that I have 1 eye, his only line was "aye", and even though they showed Sir Davos a bunch he only had ~20 seconds of screen time in a 15 minute sceen. loving Edmunn Tully had more lines and screen time and he was forgotten in a dungeon for a few years. I can't be arsed fo look to see if I spelled his name right.

Those dothraki and gonna be pissed when they get back to Essos and the people they left behind immediately begin vying for control against each other because Dany and the Dragons are dead and gone. Oh and they probably immediately reinstitute slavery since laffo complete power vacuum

Snow Cone Capone posted:This whole thing definitely didn't start because the new king didn't give a poo poo about his job and wanted to spend all day loving about with animals All it would've taken is someone going "who the gently caress is Bran?" then have him use his three eyed raven powers to reveal some piece of information and prove he is all knowing and wanted to be a good ruler. This finale was hella lazy. Snow Cone Capone posted:And where did the Dothraki go? Did they also just gently caress off back to Essos? The writers forgot that the Unsullied and the Dothraki aren't the same thing and sent them both home even though the Dothraki are terrified of crossing salt water. Barudak posted:Those dothraki and gonna be pissed when they get back to Essos and the people they left behind immediately begin vying for control against each other because Dany and the Dragons are dead and gone. Ya slaver's bay definitely went back to slaving like 10 minutes after Dany set sail. The Second Sons probably looted the gently caress out of Meereen then left too.

It would have been cool and fitting if Gendry was king because Robert was the last time the Seven Kingdoms had a stable, popular ruler before he was murdered. Plus all of the main characters like him and he could actually have children, which avoids the whole problem of Westeros dissolving into a bloody war when Bran dies and has no heir.

I like how they laughed at Sam and likened commoners to dogs and yet were also horrified that Dany nuked Kings Landing. I suppose it’s realistic in the sense that the powerful will never give up their power until we pry it from their dead gay hands. P cool how 8 seasons of breaking the wheel and winters coming all culminates in a simple change in the succession laws and some malarkey about the best rulers being those who don’t want to rule.

The capital is in ruins, the largest form of non-land based capital is at the bottom of an ocean, the ruler has no loyal military or economic base or heirs, and a massive amount of peasants and military capable men are dead but dont worry electing the king is the solution our charactwra would choose and individual character stories is what our epilogue should show.

Cough Drop The Beat posted:What did you like about it? I'm honestly curious. The show, and the books, ended. But as more of a good-faith answer: I thought Clarke did a good job selling "crazy-eyes-i'm gonna save the world" mania. If the previous episodes had set it up better, it would have been perfect. The Dragonpit scene was just dumb enough to be amusing to me. Jon just loving off instead of really joining a non-existent Night's Watch was fine. Sansa ruling the North was good. I also was greatly amused at how they just sprayed stuff at the screen. Drogon leaves. Random people at the Dragonpit meeting. Robin Arryn is there. Edmure is a goofball. It was kind of a microcosm of the entire second half of the show, in my opinion. Very schizophrenic. One scene good, next scene bad, one episode good, next episode dogshit. Just a real mish-mash of quality. I enjoyed watching that
