Anyway, some random racist rear end in a top hat calls Black Wrestler Who Might Be Tony Atlas the N-word, and Murdoch immediately freaks out screaming "YOU CAN'T TALK TO MY FRIEND LIKE THAT!" Cue bar-clearing brawl. So...yeah?

Every racist has a friend, co-worker, ect. Who they see as a person first and a race second. It makes sense that they would see black wrestlers as wrestlers and brothers first, wrestlers have often seen wrestling as both a job and a fraternal brotherhood.

There is often a division in the racist mindset between close proximity in safe spaces and then that nebulous "other" that waits beyond their vision. "One of the good ones" and all that as well, but it's something you can see all the time. The grandfather of racial "science" Gobineau was obsessed with Persian women and Persian culture in spite of being mind-bogglingly racist because he liked living there. It's probably a byproduct of carrying a philosophy that regardless of all the massive moral issues is immensely detrimental and consistently demonstrates failure and social loss.
