I'm a fair bit older than that, but thanks?

I just hit a point where I think it should be self-evident that those who have the means have an obligation to care for those who have had life deal them a lovely hand.

I just hit the big 50 this year, and I just ain't got time for this bullshit anymore. Friendships have been ended.

Like, what, there's a gaydar-powered door in the mad scientist's evil lair that won't open for straight people? Only a black person can properly camouflage to sneak their way into the military complex? What the gently caress level of "important to the plot" would mandate some minority character aspect? It's literally just demanding that there has to be a "reason" that say, a character is gay. Straight people don't need a reason to be straight, but if you have a gay character you better answer "well, WHY?" to my satisfaction! Not to mention that when such character aspects are absolutely central to the plot, like say, a story about Stonewall or growing up black in a racist neighborhood or facing betrayal from your friends and family when they find out you're gay, these same people will just hate on it anyway for being pandering or SJW garbage or what the gently caress ever the hot phrase of the day is.
I'm almost beginning to suspect this is a somewhat disingenuous cover, and they just don't want any minority representation in media.

They can't comprehend that people would want to be gay/foreign/anything they can't relate to, so any inclusiveness is just pandering. Aspects of identity that 'open doors' is one of the main metaphors for understanding the challenges of minorities, and so much of scifi and fantasy media has used that concept literally, I'm honestly surprised I haven't heard about something with a 'gays only' door yet. Games especially push the 'visit new worlds and discover their cultures and characters' angle, but for some reason those exotic worlds should be full of straight white people who speak english.

Just pour it directly into your gaping mouth-hole you decadent slut

quote:

When my wife and I got married we agreed that we would have 2 kids unless both were girls, then we'd have a 3rd to try for a boy. I'm a guy's guy and I grew up with only brothers so I feel strongly that I want a son to bond with. That's not to say that I don't love my daughter equally. I just want to raise someone to follow in my footsteps with sports and girls and stuff. After some convincing, my wife agreed to this but said that if the 3rd kid was a girl, we'd stop trying. Anyway, we ended up having one boy (8 years old) and one girl (5 years old). This background is important because you need to know that having a 3rd kid was something that was on the table.

Last month, our son told us that he likes boys. This is totally fine, I'm not a homophobe, but I'm starting to feel like I want to have a 3rd kid so we can try to have a straight boy. I love my son more than anything and I wouldn't love a straight kid more than him, but at the end of the day I wanted to be able to bond with one of my kids over traditional masculine stuff, which includes women.

My wife doesn't think that this is a good reason to have a 3rd kid. She said that she would be open to having a 3rd kid but that she finds my reasoning disgusting and she doesn't think she can go through with it knowing the reason for me wanting one. I don't think she understands how special it is for a father to have a son who can follow in his footsteps. Am I the rear end in a top hat or is she overreacting?

Fun, fast and furious fantasy.

"The Seven Royals" is a breezy, clever blend of sword and sorcery and fairy tale. It expertly pumps new life into storybook perennials like Hansel, Sinbad, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and others by adding high adventure, horror, and twists on their famous legends. As in the best fantasy fiction, the author creates an imaginative yet almost mappable world of lands and denizens, human and magical, with total control of all. In the imaginative plot, a dethroned warrior prince must round up the above heroes and heroines to defeat King Midas and his alliance of sorcerers, vampires, werewolves, orcs and more dark creatures, provided they can first bond as a team. This provides the heart of the story, which Airey delightfully displays, minus one frustrating flaw. The central hero, Prince Jasher, is a little underwhelming compared to his band mates. As his wicked brother rightly points out, he got his superior strength and magic sword from a space rock, which is par in a fantasy, but had done little to deserve it. Later, Belle (yes that Belle) rightly points out that he'd slept in a trance for ten years while the others were battling the forces of darkness. Then, he gets buffeted around real good, sleep darted, captured, has to be re-empowered by a dragon, recaptured, humiliated, and almost executed, until he's rescued by his friends. But they're so enjoyable, like the unctuous villains, and the climactic action so exciting, they more than compensate for the problematic leader. What more can you ask for in a fast read.
Though dang, reading that again, that is a pretty badass review. Maybe I should

It gets better. I'm not exactly sure how it works since I was in a different, awesomer, military but he got out after 7 years with a retirement as if he'd been in for 20 because he was in a motorcycle accident and would need a year of rehab. My guess is the rise of computing as a hobby - one largely encouraged for boys, but not girls - and hobbyists becoming professionals (which is uncommon among medics I hope).

The first dip is when home computers became affordable, the second when the first generation to be raised with computers enters the workforce. If you weren't into computers as a kid by that point, you're effectively shut out of the profession.
