Halisnacks posted:So, I totally agree that Corbyn should have the first go at forming a government of national unity with the sole remit of extending the A50 deadline and calling a GE. But am I the only one who thinks it’s so clearly the only good idea to take us off the collision course with No Deal that I don’t care if another caretaker PM does it instead? Harriet Herman really doesn’t strike me as a bad option to literally do two things in a time-limited window if that’s what it takes. Corbyn remains leader of the party and leads the GE campaigning, so I really don’t know what is lost if he can’t execute on his plan but someone else can. I agree, both should be tried. But I think the non Corbyn option is even less likely. After all it requires parliament to undertake two positive actions: choose a person then vote for it. Whereas the Corbyn option only requires a single positive action to occur and so is merely extremely unlikely rather than blatantly impossible. My bet is that we VONC bojo narrowly then won't vote on anything else successfully so we just hung parliament until NDB or extension.

Also the retirement age to 75 thing is bonkers unless the Tories are just going to the highscore on the "Lab/Con switchover" age. How young are the oldest cohort that'll be affected?

big scary monsters posted:Veggie burgers can be incredible and I've honestly gained a preference for a nice black bean burger over the majority of meat ones. A couple different (meat-eating) mates have advised me that the Vegan Junk Food Bar in Amsterdam has the best burger in existence bar none, so if you're getting into plant-based alternatives maybe give it a look next time you find yourself in the capital. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. I'm a bit hampered in my quest for non-meat/healthy eating by not being able to do onion or garlic (apart from garlic & chili oil, which I believe doesn't have the compound that makes people's guts react). But it's fun to experiment with ways around it.

He spent years acting like he was the poo poo, and he had a guy to tell people he was the poo poo, and then it turned out he WAS the poo poo, and so he didn’t need that guy anymore. That guy then took up with a young friend of Okada and they STABBED HIM IN THE BACK. But Okada being Okada, he was soon the poo poo again, and now everybody - including the young punk - is chasing him because he’s the poo poo. The next challenger is a acrobatic yet simple fella who is a gay.

Some hindu sects (including hare krishnas) are both vegetarian and do not eat onion or garlic (I think they increase ignorance or something in ayurvedic medicine) so there are many recipes you can get from that source if you like indian food. This is a fantastic indian vegetarian cookbook without onion or garlic if you can find it cheap.
