Quoting myself but yeah, I just checked, Survation (one of the ones who got the polling the closest last election) have Tories at 28, Lab 24, LD 21, BXP 15, SNP 4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_next_United_Kingdom_general_election#2019 When you look at polling history, YouGov is fairly consistently an outlier among polls, often showing the largest Tory lead by a few percent. They do push polling and it's owned by Tories. You should generally ignore polls outside of an election season but that goes double for YouGuff E: https://twitter.com/bestcataccount/status/1163853317199618048?s=20

I like these games. Pretty sure that's Tony Benn beside Corbyn and that's John Hume third from right in the front. Yeah, Kabul was the nice bit. It was the best-defended part of the DRA, got all the mod cons of a second-world capital, and was well-connected enough to the outside world that people there could import food when the agriculture sector imploded. It was the folks out in the countryside who were hosed hard by the government.

The "thinking" is that having Greenland would expand the amount of the proven oil and gas reserves they could claim under the North Pole, as well as the unproven reserves under Greenland and in the far north Atlantic they could claim. That exploiting these resources would require both to be more-or-less clear of permanent ice is particularly loving grim. (The even grimmer thought is that the land area of Greenland is slightly larger than the amount of arable land the US is likely to lose to climate change...)

The ones China also have a loads of, and process the most of. The ones the Chinese have been buying the rights up to in Africa for years and years. Its a sector that the Chinese are genuinely ahead of the US in, so obviously Trump can't take that, as it means they have a weapon to fight him with in his oh-so-logical trade war.
