Well, I looked it up myself, and while Labour is ahead with both Indians and Pakistanis, its lead with the former is narrow and shrinking, while its lead with the latter is huge and growing. This article offers an explanation, even if it slightly overestimates the scale of the problem.

This is probably just pure ignorance on my part but I don’t really know that there is a big lobby for Indian or Pakistani interests outside of official diplomatic ties, nothing on par with I/P anyway that I’m aware of. I’m sure there’s some post colonial reason for it. Can anyone direct me to some good material on Partition and the whole post colonial relationship between Britain and India & Pakistan? Yet again our school system just pretended nothing really happened so I don’t even know where to start with it.

lots and lots of Europe-centered maps is my diagnosis, the distortion from projection makes greenland appear to be very very huge. Huge and big and important I sure hope nobody tries to show him something like this for perspective

You could argue that the Pakistan lobby, in both senses, dates back to the All-India Muslim League and its London Chapter, and that predates partition by a way. There's been a strong 'not this poo poo again' Indian lobby in the UK dating from the East African expulsions, but that had a focus on ensuring that Kenyan and Ugandan Indians were not stateless and helping British Indian communities, rather than helping the interests of the state of India. e: ^^ Yeah, I also hope Trump doesn't notice Australia.

Like when Iran renamed the street that the British Embassy was on from Winston Churchill Street to Bobby Sands Street. I bet Trump is similarly petty enough to change the postal address to a side street in response.

It's even better: The brits took such a hump they closed the entrance on Bobby Sands st. and opened a new one round the corner so they wouldn't get mail addressed to them there. They're not 'wrong' per se they're just not like ours. You either get bratwurst which has worryingly high concentrations of actual meat, or you get 'sweet italian' which is flavoured with fennel. They taste fine but if you're craving a nice Lincolnshire it's just not the same.

Also, though, the media being twisted also directly influences actual vote shares as well as bullshit polls, so
